A fun surprise before we set sail last night! Our Virgin Voyages BDM, Ivan, stopped by the ship with some fun swag to kick off our sailing. Such a thoughtful way to start the adventure!

For those who may not know, BDM stands for Business Development Manager. They are the connection between travel advisors and travel suppliers, helping us stay informed about the latest offerings, promotions, training, and updates.

Building strong relationships with BDMs is an important part of what I do as a travel advisor. These connections give me access to valuable product knowledge, support, and resources that help me better serve my clients.

Out of the office and at sea!

I will be boarding Virgin Voyages’ Brilliant Lady today with a group of fellow travel advisors and some clients, sailing down the Pacific Coast, and I will be away until September 19.

I will have very limited access to my voicemail but will still be checking email and WhatsApp when I can. Response times may be a little slower than usual while I’m enjoying some time onboard and experiencing more of what Virgin Voyages has to offer firsthand.

If you are travelling while I’m away and need assistance, please reach out. For anything that can wait, I’ll be back to my regular schedule on September 19.

In the meantime, I will be doing what I do best: travelling, learning, and finding even more great experiences to recommend to my clients.

Ahoy! One week until I finally get to step aboard Brilliant Lady!

I’ve been selling Virgin Voyages for quite some time, so I’m especially excited to experience it for myself and see what my clients have been enjoying firsthand.

I’ll be sailing from Vancouver to Los Angeles with a group of fellow travel advisor friends and a couple of clients, stopping in San Francisco, Santa Barbara, Catalina Island and San Diego along the way.

There’s a reason Virgin Voyages has become such a popular choice for my clients, and there’s a lot that sets it apart from a traditional cruise.

Adults only, always.

More than 20 places to eat, with no traditional buffet. Think everything from casual grab-and-go options to beautifully designed restaurants and menus created by some seriously talented chefs.

Wi-Fi is included, along with essential drinks like still and sparkling water, soda, juices, drip coffee and tea.

Fitness classes are included too, with plenty of options for staying active between meals, cocktails and exploring the ship.

And then there’s the Bar Tab. It works differently than a traditional drink package and can be used toward premium drinks throughout your sailing. One of the things I particularly like is that not everyone in the same cabin has to purchase one.

The entertainment is another big part of the Virgin experience. Live shows, the Happenings Cast, drag performances, Scarlet Night, parties and plenty of unexpected moments make the experience feel very different from a traditional cruise.

Winter travel planning is already underway, and if Iberostar Waves Tucan or Quetzal is on your list, there is a renovation worth knowing about.

Both resorts in Riviera Maya are undergoing a complete renovation from May 15 through November 30, with the goal of returning with refreshed spaces and an even better guest experience.

The renovations include:

This has been the view I have woken up to every morning for the past week, and I am definitely going to miss it.

When you travel, how important is the view from your room?

For me, waking up to the ocean and falling asleep to the sound of the waves makes such a difference. There is something about being able to slow down, step outside, and take in a view like this that does wonders for my mental health.

It is also a great reminder that sometimes the little details of a hotel stay can make a big difference in how you experience a vacation.
