Whoohooo!!

✅OPEN has reopened between and following a closure due to wildfires in the area.

⚠️Expect delays as there is a 2km stretch of single lane alternating traffic from 1km south of the Alexandra Bridge to 1km north of the Alexandra Tunnel. Watch for traffic control and be sure to check DriveBC.ca for the latest updates.

Notice of Nomination:

Nomination documents must be submitted in person to the Deputy Election Officer at the District of Lillooet Office, 615 Main Street, Lillooet, British Columbia.

Candidates are also required to make a solemn declaration as part of the nomination process. This declaration may be administered by the Deputy Election Officer or a Municipal Corporate Officer designate at the time nomination papers are filed.
Alternatively, candidates may arrange for the declaration to be taken by a lawyer, notary public, or Commissioner for Taking Affidavits for British Columbia at their own expense.

The complete nomination package will then be delivered to the Chief Electoral Officer, Mr. Patrick Marshall.

District of Lillooet Update:

There are no evacuation orders within the District of Lillooet.

An evacuation alert remains in place for Cook's Road, Roshard Road, Mitchell Road, and the three properties on Texas Creek Road. This is an alert, not an order. Be prepared to leave if needed, but you do not need to leave at this time.

Some neighbouring areas have been changed from an evacuation order to an evacuation alert. If you live outside the District of Lillooet, please follow updates from your local authority.

Riley Creek Wildfire (K70659) Update, August 2, 2026

Alert status (District of Lillooet): The District's evacuation alert remains in place for Cook's Road, Roshard Road, Mitchell Road, and the three properties on Texas Creek Road. This is still an alert, not an order. There is no change to the status of these properties. Be ready to leave on short notice, but you do not need to leave now. The rest of the District is not under alert.

Neighbouring areas: SLRD Electoral Area B, and some properties under the Thompson-Nicola Regional District and Lytton First Nation, are moving from evacuation order to alert this evening. If you live in one of these areas, your evacuation instructions come from your own authority, not from this page:

Fire behaviour: The fire continues to slowly progress south and southeast at high elevation. On the southern flank, personnel have observed Rank 2 fire behaviour with pockets of Rank 3 meaning a surface with open flame occasional candling, and a slow to moderate rate of spread. The Northern flank of the fire is displaying Rank 1 fire behaviour meaning a smoldering ground fire with minimal spread.
