UPDATE: The Saw Creek wildfire (K70597), located approximately three kilometres south of Lytton is currently estimated at 706 hectares in size. Its status has now been updated to Under Control, which ensures there will be no further spread.

This status reflects significant progress made through sustained suppression efforts by ground crews and aviation resources. Crews will remain on-site to continue patrols and extinguish hot spots.

Nearby communities may continue to see smoke from within the fire perimeter, it is not a cause for concern. If you see smoke outside the fire perimeter, report it immediately at 1-800-663-5555, *5555 on a cell, or through the BC Wildfire Service app.
