Well… we just had a great run in Morocco. 🇲🇦
One of our favourite places in the world! Marrakech was not where I expected we would be for most of our time because it is so busy and sensory overload, but other than a quick jaunt to Fez & the desert, it was EXACTLY where we needed to be! If anyone ever needs some suggestions or tips for traveling to Morocco independently.. please reach out!

Will be heading back to the first country (other than many islands in the Caribbean) that I traveled to with my daughter. Morocco is enchanting and exotic and full of flavours and decor that you will not experience anywhere else in the world. It is easily accessible from North America (we are in the middle of Canada), and closer for us that Europe, with only a 4 hour time difference. Although nestled in North West Africa, it is a great mix of French Culture blended with Middle Eastern culture, religion and food.

My daughter Clara is finishing her second round of post secondary education and was yearning to take “one last trip” with me, her mom before starting her new career.. and her first choice destination was the place that the epic mother/daughter, adventures started when she had just turned six years old.

She will turn 23 this August, and I cannot wait to see how she reacts seeing some of the beautiful places that I took her all those years ago. Seeing Morocco through her six year old eyes was absolutely amazing.. she was fearless and adventurous and wanted to eat and try everything. I wonder if it will be the same now?

Looking forward to hearing what you are all planning with your children, and as always, I am here to help if I can. This will be another journey of booking only flights and a place to stay in Marrakech when we land; but then winging it and traveling into the Sahara and up into the Atlas Mountains and wherever our spirit takes us.

Travel well my friends. These are the memories that will sustain you. 🌎

Sitting with my coffee this morning looking at some of the beautiful trinkets collected by my daughter and I in different parts of the world, from one of our epic journeys… these little things sustain me in these times of less travel, but it’s time to start traveling more again. what are some of the things you have collected with your children that you love to look at, and that being those beautiful travel memories back to the forefront of your mind?

I have travelled and shared to show others that single parent travel can be done to exotic places independently and on a backpacker's budget. I also love seeing the world through my daughter's pure eyes, and open heart!!

This journey through the Middle East was epic! And I will never forget these vistas in Jordan with my daughter Clara ❤️

She has always been my inspiration for travel, and we have done it so well together! This is my daughter Clara.. and my map reading navigator since her first trip at two months old… she is 22 1/2 now… Best memories have been made with my daughter on some epic travels! ❤️
