Every summer, our field teams fan out across the range of Atlantic salmon. Different rivers, different crews, different projects, but one shared purpose: collecting pieces of the Atlantic salmon life-history puzzle.
This summer has been a big one. New projects launching, others wrapping up, and every one of them feeding into something larger.
Since last fall, we’ve been building toward a single egg-to-ocean research framework, tracking Atlantic salmon across their full life history from river to marine phase in one connected picture rather than isolated snapshots.
When you understand the whole journey, you can pinpoint where survival bottlenecks actually occur and direct conservation effort where it counts most. That’s how a summer of fieldwork becomes conservation gains that compound for seasons to come.
