Take Jane and Darren from Leicestershire, United Kingdom, who dropped in to visit "Great little tribute to Canadian country music." AND they took one of our maps, plus they bought a t-shirt to take back with them to the UK. Life is good for this Merrittonian.

Airport Day 2026 Is Coming to Merritt

Mark your calendars, Merritt and Nicola Valley.

Saturday, September 26, 2026, is Airport Day at Merritt Airport, and this is one community event you won’t want to miss.

It’s a day for families, aviation fans, car enthusiasts, outdoor lovers, curious kids and anyone who simply enjoys seeing something a little different happening in our community.

And there’s plenty to see.

Take a helicopter ride with Valley Helicopters. Check out the classic cars. Get up close to aircraft on display. Watch RC model plane demonstrations. Meet the Merritt Snowmobile Club and Nicola Valley Search and Rescue. Grab some great food from local vendors.

And yes, bring the kids. Bring the camera, too.

Admission is FREE.

Airport Day is about more than airplanes. It’s about bringing people together, showcasing the people and organizations that make the Nicola Valley special, and enjoying a great day right here at our airport.

So come out. Bring the family. Bring a friend. Bring your curiosity.

Airport Day 2026 is coming to the Merritt Airport on Saturday, September 26, 2026!

The Merritt Snowmobile Club is excited to be part of this great community event. Come by our booth, check out some of our club swag, and get a look at the snowmobiles we use to explore and maintain the amazing backcountry trails around the Nicola Valley.

Airport Day is a great day for the whole family, featuring aircraft displays, helicopter rides, emergency services, local organizations, vendors, interactive displays, and plenty of activities for all ages.

Calling all pilots! ✈️ If you have an aircraft, come fly in and spend the day with us. Bring your plane, connect with other aviation enthusiasts, and enjoy a great day at the airport. Don’t forget to grab some delicious food made by the Merritt Rotary Club while you’re there!

Brazil brings her sunshine personality to downtown Merritt and explores the Merritt Visitor Welcome Centre.

Today we had the pleasure of welcoming a visitor all the way from Brazil to the Merritt Visitor Welcome Centre. There is something special about seeing guests from across the world discover everything our community has to offer.

Their first impression said it all. They told us they loved the building and thanked our Welcome Team for the map and visitor information that will help them explore the Nicola Valley. Comments like these remind us that a warm welcome and local knowledge can turn a great trip into an unforgettable one.

Every visitor who walks through our doors brings new stories, new friendships, and new opportunities to showcase the incredible hospitality that makes Merritt stand out. From England and Scotland to Merritt. That Is Country Music Worth Singing About

We love welcoming visitors from every corner of the world and today we had the pleasure of meeting travellers from England and Scotland.

Their journey is taking them to Vancouver Island, but before they continued their adventure they made a special stop in Merritt because they were told they had to visit the Merritt Visitor Welcome Centre.

That recommendation made our day.

One of their favourite moments was them singing an Alan Jackson song while we tried to put a name to it. It was a reminder that Merritt's country music spirit reaches far beyond our borders and creates memories that visitors carry with them wherever they travel.
