Day 4 was Audrey's pick. Her big ask was to go up the Eiffel Tower and get her own croissant considering we were in Paris, this was a reasonable ask.

We were pleasantly surprised about how much we enjoyed going up the Tower. We went to the second level and spent a good deal of time there. When we left Eiffel we took a boat ride down the Siene. It was nice to sit and view the sites after our first couple of BUSY days!

Our trip to The Louvre!

That's it. We saw it. Next time maybe we will go inside 🤷‍♀️

Pizza lunch and a stroll to the Louvre.

After seeing Napolean's tomb we wandered the Military Museum. While this was not our favourite war Museum we have attended (Ottawa's beats this one) it was interesting to see the French perspectives and additional wars the French were a part of.

To start off day 3 we went to Napolean's tomb. There was a lot of learning for both Audrey and I and it was humbling to hear her questions. No one can say we don't learn when we travel.

This is another example that you will want to know your research before arriving. There are no information plaques, as this is a formal resting place for Napolean, not intended as a tourist attraction.

When visiting you will notice that you are never at the same level as Napolean's tomb. You are either looking up or down at him. This was intentional.

Day 2, Part 2

After Notre Dame we strolled the Luxembourg Gardens. This was one of my favourites.

We strolled the grounds, found some free public washrooms, and paid for a playground. We also saw the France Statue of Liberty. 🗽

The highlight for sure was the boats. Spend rhe €5 to rent a boat for an hour and play. 💯

To finish off day two we finally went to see the Paris icon, the Eiffel Tower. Seeing it at night all lit up was another highlight. Our first sight of the Eiffel Tower it was sparkling as we turned the corner. The look on Audrey's face made it 1000% worth it 😍

Our walk home proved to be exciting as well. We came upon a Fashion Week event that celebs like Heidi Klum were attending. 💃

Paris day 2, part 1.

We prebooked our tickets to Notre Dame while driving to the airport. This is highly recommended as the line just for tickets was huge! We walked right in.

While waiting for a ticketed entry to Notre Dame we strolled the Seine, saw the Shakespeare Company's bookstore, but did not enter as the line for that was also huge. We also wandered the Italian area and had our first small bakery treats. Audrey said her macarons from this day were the best ones the whole trip.

Notre Dame is something to see. I recommend doing research to know what you are looking at or renting the headset for the audio tour. Our visit took us about an hour to go through and that was plenty for us.

Stick around for day 2 part 2!

Come along with us on our trip to Paris 🇫🇷

We arrived in Paris mid afternoon. So we went out to sightsee close to our hotel.

That does not mean we kept things easy!

We walked over 20,000 steps finding hidden alleys with the cutest, and oldest, shops. Then went more mainstream with a quick shopping visit to the Lafayette Galleries. We did not pre book the photo op, but got some good pictures of the beautiful architecture of this giant mall.

The Paris Opera is next door to the Galleries so we previewed that from outside. Then we enjoyed a leisurely stroll down the grand boulevard before having our first dinner in Paris and heading to bed.
