With clients preparing to visit the Canary Islands on an upcoming transatlantic cruise, and another sailing to the region planned for 2028, I recently attended a special Canary Islands tourism event in Toronto.

What fascinated me most was the extraordinary diversity of the islands, from lush forests and dramatic mountains to Lanzarote's volcanic vineyards.

The evening even included a tasting of regional w**es, including a particularly memorable white from Lanzarote!

Some clients inquired with me recently about a March Break getaway to Tenerife. This is a destination I've become more interested in over the past few months. It won't surprise you to learn that there's a cruise that will take you there. In 2028, we'll be visiting the Canary Islands and Tenerife with Celebrity Cruises. Holland America Volendam has some very unique features and spaces onboard! I had the opportunity to step aboard for a few hours in Montrèal this weekend.

The best surprises were:

🔹a brightly lit, pool-adjacent al fresco dining area on the lido deck
🔹the Neptune Suites lounge with its “honour system” bar service
🔹a variety of eclectic artwork throughout
🔹the most beautiful ladies’ room at sea (deserving of its own Instagram reel!)
🔹lanai staterooms opening up right onto the promenade deck

Seeing a ship up close and personal is so meaningful to the work that I do, and it’s also one of the most fun parts of my job.
