Cinque Terre, the five colorful fishing villages perched on the cliffs of Italy’s Ligurian coast, are as stunning as they are unique.
Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore were once only reachable by sea or steep trails, and even today cars can’t enter most of them.
Instead, you wander on foot, hike the coastal paths, or take the train that links them together.

Tips for Visiting Cinque Terre:
1. Use the train: The Cinque Terre Express runs between all five villages and is the easiest way to get around.
2. Wear good shoes: Even if you don’t plan a full hike, the villages have steep, uneven streets and stairs.
3. Go early or late: Midday gets very crowded. Early mornings and evenings feel more authentic and peaceful.
4. Try the local food: Pesto was born in Liguria. Pair it with fresh pasta or focaccia, and don’t miss the local white wine.
5. Bring a swimsuit: Monterosso has the best sandy beach, but you can swim in almost every village.

Send to someone you'd like to bring with you!

Gdańsk in Poland is more than its colorful Long Market. Many visitors miss the striking Museum of the Second World War and the European Solidarity Centre, where the story of the Solidarity movement is told. These places show how Gdańsk played a key role not only in Poland’s history but in shaping modern Europe. Hidden courtyards, amber workshops on Mariacka Street, and shipyard streets add even more layers to this city’s story.

What to do in Gdańsk if you have a few extra days?
1. Start with a cruise to Westerplatte, where WWII began or even to Hel where you can enjoy a nice beach and visit a Museum of Coastal Defense that tells the story of Poland’s first battles of World War II. Set in old German bunkers, it shows how this narrow strip of land became a frontline in 1939.
2. Take the local SKM train to nearby Sopot with its wooden pier and beach vibe, or head further to Gdynia for modernist architecture and a working port feel. You can tour the ORP Błyskawica, a WWII destroyer turned museum ship, or step aboard the Dar Pomorza, a tall sailing ship with a long training history. The waterfront itself is lively with cafés, modernist architecture, and views of ferries and fishing boats heading out to the Baltic.
3. Back in Gdańsk, don’t miss the Museum of Amber, where you’ll see the city’s golden gem in every form imaginable. The Museum of Amber is a treasure trove of this “Baltic gold.” Inside, you’ll see raw amber pieces, fossils with insects perfectly preserved inside, and centuries of jewelry crafted in the city that became the amber capital of the world. Exhibits also show how amber was traded, carved, and treasured across Europe.

Share this with someone who needs to add GDANSK in Poland to their bucket travel list.

Paris has always been a star on screen. Walk through the city and you can picture scenes from Midnight in Paris, Amélie, and Before Sunset. Each film captures a different side of the city—romantic, dreamy, and timeless.

Have you seen any? Which one captured Paris vibes the best?

Stonehenge UK is one of those places that feels familiar and mysterious at the same time. Standing in the open landscape, these massive stones raise more questions than answers about who built them and why. Whether you visit early in the day or under dramatic skies, the scale and age of Stonehenge make it a powerful reminder of how long humans have been shaping this land.

Hiking in Mont Tremblant is one of the best ways to enjoy Quebec’s outdoors. The trails are well marked, the forests are lush, and the viewpoints over lakes and mountains make the effort worthwhile. It is an easy place to slow down, breathe, and reconnect with nature, whether you choose a short walk or a longer hike.

Did you know that building the British Museum’s Great Court in London was an enormous challenge? I just watched a documentary about it and really loved it!

The space was once an open courtyard surrounded by historic buildings, and covering it with a glass roof meant working around centuries old architecture without damaging it.
The steel and glass roof was designed as a complex grid of thousands of uniquely shaped panes, all custom made to fit the irregular space. Completed in 2000, it became one of Europe’s largest covered public squares and a remarkable example of how modern engineering can coexist with historic heritage.

Do you love visiting local markets when you travel?

Rialto Market is where Venice feels most alive. Fresh seafood arrives early in the morning, colourful fruit and vegetables fill the stalls, and locals move with purpose among centuries old traditions. This market has been feeding the city since the Middle Ages, and walking through it is one of the best ways to experience everyday Venetian life beyond the canals.
