Hello everyone,
Well, we weren't winners at this year's Ottawa Music Industry Coalition awards, but there's always next year and it was a great honour to have been nominated. Massive congrats to The Rainbow Bistro for their win, and to the other nominees as well. The biggest downside to not winning is that we didn't have the chance to publicly thank a lot of great folks who have contributed so much to our success over the past year...so here goes:
Firstly, Nicole and I would like to thank all our staff, the concert goers, and the wonderful musicians for making this such a magical place.
Thanks to Nathan Carter Moore, Brianna Herdman, Robert Allen and Paul Weston for making everyone sound so darn good. Thanks to Laura Collins - Photographer and Curtis Perry Photography for making us look so great.
With great emphasis, we'd like to acknowledge local legends Lynn Miles, Jim Bryson and Dave Draves who all put their names and support behind this project well before we even opened the doors - they have played here and provided invaluable endorsements to their peers in the industry. We'd also love to thank the amazing Erin Benjamin for all the encouragement and advice she and her Canadian Live Music team have provided since well before the start. None of this would have been anywhere close to possible without them.
It's truly been an honour to be a part of the Ottawa Music Community in this capacity over the past year, and we look forward to doing it all again (and then some) in 2023 and beyond.
Please keep playing. Please keep going to shows. Please spread the word that Ottawa is an incredible music city (we are really, really good at live music).
