It's Local Food Week in Ontario this week, but we have a secret. We're extending the celebration through to June 13 & 14 to allow for our festivities to include The Great Canadian Cheese Festival 2026!

This is an opportunity to celebrate the best in Canadian cheese right here in The City of Peterborough. From small-batch creameries to award-winning favourites, it’s your chance to taste, sip, and shop local all under one roof at the Morrow Building.

Whether you’re a brie beginner (a brie-ginner... if you will...) or a cheddar connoisseur, this is your sign to plan a delicious day out. Support local producers, discover new favourites, and experience why Canadian cheese is worth celebrating.

This week on Wild TV - Canada's Hunting and Fishing TV Network you can get a taste of what Peterborough's iconic waterway has to offer for boaters, anglers, and visitors of all kinds.

Water Ways TV w/ Steven Bull was here last fall on a "beautiful June-tember" day and had the opportunity to connect with Liftlock and The River Boat Cruises, The Canadian Canoe Museum, CANCAST Fishing Show, Peterborough Carping Guides and other stops along the Trent-Severn Waterway National Historic Site, Parks Canada.

Musicfest lineup = officially launched. 🚀🎶

Did you know Peterborough Musicfest was designed around the perfect summer day in Peterborough? That’s why you’ll find shows lighting up Wednesdays and Saturdays—keep reading 👇

We joined the community (and a whole lot of excited fans) at Quaker Foods City Square for the big reveal, hosted by Peterborough Musicfest. And this year’s lineup is bringing it—think Trans-Canada Highwaymen, Lighthouse, Sass Jordan, Julian Taylor, Dwayne Gretzky, Gowan, and of course, the Good Lovelies (whose very own Sue Passmore played at the launch).

The magic of Musicfest? It’s more than a concert - it’s a full-day experience. Founder Fred Anderson originally built the schedule so you can start your day at the Peterborough Farmers’ Market, spend the afternoon exploring shops and patios, and end lakeside with live music as the sun sets. 🌅

Honestly… that sounds like a pretty perfect Peterborough day.

👇 Tell us: who are you most excited to see this summer?
