Canada's Rotating House - Around The Sea Canada's Rotating House "Around The Sea" rotating house is located in North Rustico, PE, Canada. Planning started in 2011 and construction began in May 2012.

It consists of a Deltec Home attached to a rotating platform supplied by E Rotating Structures (ERS). The house is expected to be roof tight by September 2012 and the interior complete by Spring 2013. Each level of the house is 2,500sf. The bottom level is divided into four rental suites. Rentals began in July 2013.

Happy to be living in a Deltec Home!

The house did well through the storm! We lost some soffits under the upper deck & the shed took a beating, but we & our guests were fine. The new barrel sauna with viewing bubble was also fine & would have been spectacular to be in to watch the storm!

We have a generator for power and we’re able to have hot showers.

A battery backup with 2000w inverter (like a 2000w generator) gave us power when the big generator wasn’t turned on and it can be run inside the house with no emissions.

Life at Canada’s Rotating House went on pretty uninterrupted for us & our guests.

We kept busy over the last 5 days without power (on as of last night) by helping neighbours & having dinner & playing cards with friends.

Grateful to all the cleanup crews working hard around our province!

Please come & support PEI when it is okay to do so. Still lots of nice weather, delicious food, & beautiful scenery to enjoy…

This should help a bit on the weekend! Many people know that we live in a round house that rotates, but don't know that the round house part is from a company in Asheville, North Carolina called Deltec Homes or that these homes are hurricane resistant.

Thousands of homes over a 50 year span have survived even the worst category 5 hurricanes. Not a guarantee by any means, but we are hedging our bets. Check it out below & pray that we aren't jinxing ourselves by mentioning it! :)

We will have power to the sauna next week, so be sure to make your booking at Canada's Rotating House to have your sauna experience here on the North Shore of PEI.

Our sauna has a 6 ft plexiglass panoramic viewing bubble at one end for great ocean views or enjoy a fierce storm (hopefully no more until winter!) while staying toasty warm in our sauna watching the snow blow over the water.

It's setting day! Boats full of traps are heading out and empty boats are coming back for more. It's nice to see activity on the water again.

Treated to a symphony this foggy morning after returning from a very early drop off at the airport. 🎶🐦 (The fishers were getting ready to go out to sea. Be safe!)
