Good afternoon! I started this post earlier today and then I got busy with sending off some quotes for this winter followed with my teen texting me that he was on his way home for lunch so here we are. Itās not a time sensitive post and maybe even not that interesting to some of you but every once in a while I like to introduce who we are as our page and business continues to expand.
So hereās the thing, weāre not your regular Travel Agency. We donāt have a massive office in a fancy building, we have no employees and I will honestly say that we may not do the extra things that some agencies might do. We run a small ship, we are a father/daughter team and my daughter works with us as well to assist with the office admin side of the business as she has time. George started Sierra Travel when I was 2 months old which means we have owned the agency for over 45 years! He had an office until 2000 and then decided to work from home which eventually allowed him to work while he was in Palm Springs for about 15 years. Travel has been a huge part of my life as you can imagine so partnering with my dad in 2019 felt like a pretty natural transition to make. Time wise it was terrible right before 2020 but on the flip side dad was just approaching his late 60ās and the quiet years allowed for some excellent training time for me. As things took off around 2022-23 we went from extremely slow to crazy fast which felt like overnight. As a team which we were ready for it and now we are busy year round between more clients enjoying All Inclusive reasorts throughout the entire year aside from July/August to Custom Tours, Cruises and my favoriteā¦Freestyle Travel Adventures!
Most of our clients know that one of us are always available for our clients major emergencies 24/7, we enjoy surprising clients once in a while with a call/text/email or small gift of appreciation just because we care about you and we know in business that trust is earned not given or owed to us. We do our best to grow, learn, continue to travel ourselves so we can share more of our experiences and to be the kind of Travel Agency that just feels easy to deal with. Our company vision is that we sell experiences not just another trip. If weāre not in a place of being able to pour our full heart into it we hold off until we are. Meaning if weāre extra busy that day, needing a break or out of town, we will be back to offer 100% of ourselves when we step back in the office. We like to think weāre worth the wait š Sometimes we might miss out with clients feeling like they need to book that very moment but what we know is there is always an abundance of āgood dealsā out there. When one passes we know there is another one waiting for you! So with that being said, if you reach out and we havenāt answered yet please know we promise to respond as soon as we can. Sometimes we are still sleeping, with our kids, spouse, pets, friends, out for a bike ride or cooking dinner. š«¶We believe life is meant to live to the fullest each day and not only work & travel. Itās a balance but no one ever regrets taking time to enjoy the life they have worked hard to build. Even if itās 30 minutes out of your day so we work hard to make it happen otherwise life has a way of going by too fast.
So there you go, that is a but about us and heyā¦If you happen to spot our Sierra Travel sign out on hole 17 at Lakewood Golf course over the summer once itās done you will now know who we are. ā³ļø I have worded it oh so clever with āTee off your next vacation with Sierra Travelā. Let us know if you see it! Lakewood is also my (Trish) little home away from home or as I like to call it my little Italy. I will explain more about that as our vision unfolds.
