I am thinking about booking my winter vacation soon. Last year I waited, hoping for a sale but prices just continuously increased. My problem is I can't decide where to go. I want something less expensive, nice beach/ocean for swimming.
I can't decide....
Cuba. Puerto Vallarta. Ixtapa. Cancun again.
Anyone have thoughts on Cuba? It's cheaper & the ocean looks beautiful. We're ok with lesser quality food as long as there is ok food to eat.

Today we toured the properties next door to our hotel - Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun. Royalton Riviera & Royalton Hideaway and Dreams Natura. They all had different and interesting qualities.

Royalton Riviera is a family resort, very similar to the Royalton Splash we are staying at. Perhaps a bit more lively and does have a disco that stays open until 1am.

The Royalton Hidaway is adults only and was very quiet in the oceanfront room we viewed and had a definite party vibe in the pool area.

Something for everyone between these 2 resorts. They have facilities to host large and small events & weddings.

Dreams Natura had a relaxed energy, although there was definitely fun being had in the pool areas. We were able to stay and use the resort facilities for the afternoon. The food we had at the buffet was fantastic, as good as other resorts we've been to. The lazy river is quite big and fast moving, we really liked it! There is a water slide and zipline but we didn't get around to trying before it closed ( 3pm). The vibe here was more chill. Here, they do not allow everyone to claim all the pool chairs with towels so no one can ever sit!! They will pick up towels that sit for awhile and help guests find a chair if you ask one of the staff who monitor each pool area. Love this! At Royalton Splash, chairs are never open.
