A new travel advisory has been added to Canada's travel website, travel.gc.ca for Canadians travelling to the US and some other countries:

Canada warns citizens with “X” gender passports about potential issues entering the U.S.
Canadians that identify their gender as “X” on their passports may have trouble when travelling to the United States. Recently, Global Affairs Canada updated its U.S. travel advisory to include a warning for 2SLGBTQ+ Canadians who hold passports with the “X” gender designation. “You may still be asked to provide your sex/gender information as either male or female when travelling,”.
This applies to many countries around the world, not just the USA.

It's always a good plan to check travel.gc.ca for updates on any destination you wish to visit.
