It is almost time for the spookiest, most spectacular season at Magic Kingdom! Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is officially back on select nights from August 7 through October 31, 2026. 🎃👻

We are already counting down the days until we attend the party in September, and we absolutely cannot wait to experience:
✨ Mickey’s "Boo-to-You" Halloween Parade
✨ Disney's Not-So-Spooky Spectacular fireworks
✨ The Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular
✨ Trick-or-treating throughout the park

"When is the absolute BEST age to take a child to Walt Disney World?" 🤔🏰

It is a debate almost every Disney-loving parent has at some point! While taking a child under 3 is fantastic for the budget (they get free park entry and eat free at character buffets!), if you are waiting for the ultimate "sweet spot," I always lean toward ages 5 to 7. Here is why:

✨ The Magic is 100% Real: At 5, 6, and 7, they truly believe they are meeting the real Cinderella or giving a high-five to the real Mickey Mouse. The wonder in their eyes is unmatched.

👑 Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique: This is the absolute peak age for a royal makeover! Getting dusted with pixie dust by a Fairy Godmother's Apprentice and walking through the park as a princess or knight is a completely immersive experience for them.

🎢 Height Requirements: By this age, most kids are tall enough to experience the "big kid" rides like Slinky Dog Dash or Seven Dwarfs Mine Train!

🏃‍♀️ Park Stamina: They can walk further, handle longer days, and you can often ditch the mid-day stroller naps.

🧠 Core Memories: They are old enough to actually remember the trip for years to come!

Every age has its own special kind of magic, but there really is nothing quite like seeing the parks through the eyes of a 5, 6, or 7-year-old.

There is nothing quite like the raw, natural beauty of Alaska. 🏔️✨

​Our day at Dawes Glacier was a true bucket-list experience! We opted for the adults-only Glacier Explorer excursion, which meant getting an up-close view of the ice, spotting seals and whales, and sipping on "Glacieritas" made with real glacier ice! 🧊🍹

​As the true Alaskan weather rolled in on our way out of the fjord, we happily retreated back inside the ship to warm up with a cozy cup of hot chocolate. ☕❄️

Waking up to this on cruise morning? Yes, please! 😍

​This was our first time sailing out of Vancouver and our first time doing an Alaskan itinerary. We chose to stay at the Pan Pacific Vancouver the night before, and I cannot recommend it enough. You are practically sleeping right on top of the cruise terminal, and watching the ship get ready from your room is such a fun way to start the vacation.

🔵 Value Resorts: The ultimate choice for families on the go! These resorts feature larger-than-life Disney themes, budget-friendly pricing, and fun food courts. (A personal favorite is Disney's Pop Century Resort—it is hard to beat that value when you factor in the easy Disney Skyliner access! Alternatively, Disney's All-Star Resorts are a wonderful, classic choice if you want the Disney bubble experience but don't want to use the Skyliner). If you plan to spend all your time in the theme parks from rope drop to fireworks, this is where you want to be.

🟠 Moderate Resorts: The perfect middle ground. Enjoy elevated theming, lush grounds, incredible pools with waterslides, and a mix of quick-service and sit-down dining. We absolutely love Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter for its compact, easily walkable size, but the sister property, Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside, is another stunning and peaceful option!

🟢 Deluxe Resorts: Hello, luxury! Offering the closest proximity to the theme parks, premium dining, spectacular pools, and Extended Evening Hours for more park time. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stays at so many of these, with major standouts being Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, and Disney's Wilderness Lodge. We also highly recommend Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge—even though it is a bit further from the main park hub, waking up to spectacular views of the savannah and a giraffe right outside your balcony is a completely unmatched experience! (Pro-Tip: If you are planning to attend an EPCOT Festival, you cannot beat the walking distance of Disney's Yacht and Beach Club Resorts!)
