Grateful • Thankful • Blessed
This is a post I've been putting off for awhile and has been difficult to write. But, the time has unfortunately come for us to close the chapter of K Squared Apparel. This is something that I have been contemplating for awhile, but I was not ready to shut it down.
This was a side hustle that started 6 years ago and it took us to places we never imagined. We learned so much, it took us out of our comfort zones, we met so many incredible people (other business owners and customers) and it taught us to appreciate small businesses that much more.
There were so many positive things that came out of it and we do not for a second, regret starting this business. But, it also took away so much from our lives. As two full time working parents, we were spread thin. Then life decided to throw some challenges our way, which made it difficult to stay focused. We started realizing how short and unpredictable life can be and we wanted to be more present with our kids. Despite all of it, we still tried to keep the business going, because it was something we enjoyed doing. But, there are things much bigger, that needs our attention and something has to give.
While this was a very difficult decision to make, we truly appreciate everyone who supported us over the past 6 years. We will miss being at markets, we will miss talking to all of you and meeting new people. We want to say thank you - to those of you who bought our shirts, simply shared our info or came out to a market to say hello. We know the messages on our shirts resonated with so many of you and we will miss hearing your stories at markets. We are happy that we created a safe space, where people felt comfortable enough to share their vulnerable stories with us.
We are proud of our accomplishments and for taking the step to do what we did. This is not a goodbye. Because if you know me, I can't sit still. I'm sure I'll get an itch and will probably find myself dabbling with something in the future. Until then, thank you again and we will see you around!
