Learning the history behind Gibraltar Point Lighthouse was interesting, to say the least. I'll definitely be heading back again soon.

Gibraltar Point Lighthouse is one of many unique attractions located on the Toronto Islands. It is completely free to visit, however the lighthouse itself closed in 1958 and inside is inaccessible to visitors.

The Toronto Zoo has over 5, 000 animals and is the largest zoo in all of Canada 🤯 It is located on the east end of the city, in Scarborough. The zoo features a lot more than just animals though - from a zipline and ropes course to a splash pad and merry-go-round, it's the perfect place to share a fun-filled and educational day with the whole family!

The CN Tower is Toronto's number one tourist attraction, known for its height of 553 metres. It is the tallest tower in the Western Hemisphere. Aside from the stunning views you can see from the top, it is also known for the exquisite 360 Restaurant, its glass floors, and EdgeWalk - for those brave enough to venture outside the Tower's main pod 356 metres up. Definitely a must see!

Visit the Roundhouse and get a behind-the-scenes look at how Steamwhistle is brewed. The tour takes you through catwalks where you can get a bird's eye view of the brewery's operations. You'll learn all about the ingredients, process and history behind the beer.

Did you know Steamwhistle was founded by former employees of Upper Canada Brewing Company and was originally called "Three Fired Guys"? 3FG is still printed on the bottles today. Cheers! 🍻

Toronto has a little bit of something for everyone, including a Railway Museum! Learn about local railroad history, see vintage trains up-close, and take a ride on the miniature train. It's interesting and fun for people of all ages!

*due to COVID the miniature train is closed until further notice, according to https://torontorailwaymuseum.com/?page_id=39

Graffiti Alley is the place where street artists go to play! The walls lining the alley are filled with vibrant and unique art. It's one of my favourite places to visit because the art is constantly changing (although some murals remain untouched). Why not check it out for yourself? You can find it running parallel to Queen St West, between Portland and Spadina, or book a free walking tour!

Artscape Gibraltar Point is an arts and cultural facility that provides short term and long term rentals to artists from around the world. Unlike most of the Toronto Islands attractions I've visited, Artscape Gibraltar Point is not open to the public (excluding certain events). Their studio rentals are very affordable and directed at multiple artistic practices. One week at Artscape starts at $400-500, depending on which studio you choose. They also have the option to rent a two bedroom studio at a per person rate, which is great if you're working on a project with someone.

What better place to channel your creativity than on the Toronto Islands?

Did you know there are only two legal clothing-optional beaches in Canada? One of them is located on the Toronto Islands - Hanlan's Point Clothing Optional Beach. It is an interesting beach-going experience, and well secluded from people passing by. Only parts of the beach are designated as clothing-optional areas, so be on the look out for signs! This is a rather niche attraction, but it's something I consider noteworthy due to how unique it is. Plus, the views of Toronto's West End from Hanlan's Point Beach are extraordinary.
