International Experience Canada (IEC) sent out 4,955 invitations to apply for open work permits in the new Working Holiday Visa rounds of invitations in the last 2 weeks.

15,819 spots are still available for candidates from 33 eligible countries interested in applying for a Working Holiday Visa to work and explore Canada

Canada welcomes millions of temporary residents each year. Unless an individual is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident or from a visa-exempt country, an individual who wants to enter Canada for a temporary purpose must apply for a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV).

A temporary purpose includes tourists, temporary foreign workers (individuals with work permits) and international students (individuals with study permits).

Out of these, 923 have been sent under the largest IEC category of Working Holiday Visa with the total number of invitations in 2023 now reaching 98,249.

Latest Alberta PNP Draw: Three new Alberta Express Entry draws between August 15-22, 2023, sent out 403 Notification of Interest (NOI) letters offering provincial nomination.

The latest BC PNP draw of 2023 on August 15, 2023, sent out more than 225 invitations to apply for permanent residency (PR) in general and targeted draws.

169 invitations have been issued in general targeting all the occupations, including 35 Tech occupations under all the BC PNP Skills Immigration streams as well as Express Entry streams.

Additionally, 33 invitations have been sent targeted at profiles with experience as Early Childhood educators and assistants (NOC 42202).

Moreover, 23 invitations are targeted at profiles in 39 healthcare-related occupations.

In total, Canada landed 263,180 new immigrants in the first two quarters of 2023, with more than 84,000 having Indian nationality.

Today, 2 Agri-Food Pilot changes come into effect that help address Canadian labour needs:

1⃣ We’re expanding open work permit access to family members of all participants in the Agri-Food Pilot.
2⃣ We’re accepting union reference letters to attest to a candidate’s work experience as an alternative to employer reference letters.

These changes will provide greater access to the Agri-Food Pilot and more opportunities for workers and their families.
