Spending a relaxing day in the city with my new favorite bag from .clothing. I plan to do absolutely nothing today. These days are pure bliss when I don't have a list of things to do. My brain feels pleasantly empty 😊.

🌳 Serene Discoveries in Niagara-on-the-Lake 🌳

📍 Found a hidden gem in the heart of Niagara-on-the-Lake—a charming gazebo, just a 5-minute walk from the main shopping street. ✨🍃

This is the same Lake Ontario I see almost every day near my house in Toronto, just framed by different surroundings. It felt like I was saying hello to a familiar friend dressed up in a different style 😄.

Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, is a charming town tucked away on the Niagara Peninsula where the Niagara River meets Lake Ontario. My husband and I found ourselves wandering its quaint, colonial-style streets after getting a cup of hot chocolate and gelato in one of the cute shops. 🍫☕🍨

It was a perfect morning, strolling through the shopping district filled with unique boutiques and lovely shops, like this picture-perfect hat shop that caught my fancy. 🎩👒

The main shopping street is quaint with flowers in full bloom lining the streets. I felt like I was visiting one of Britain's cute villages. It was hard to believe this exists in Canada.

Travel reminds us that we are all just a small part of something much bigger than ourselves. It’s easy to get caught up in our own lives and forget about the world around us, but travel can help us see things from a different perspective and appreciate the beauty and complexity of the world we live in. Travel helps us to be humble and open-minded, and to embrace new experiences and perspectives. It reminds us that there is always more to learn and discover, and that we should never stop exploring.

When I was younger, I was a fan of the band, Savage Garden. One of the songs on their album was about Santa Monica. I remember singing about this place years ago. When I actually got to visit the Santa Monica pier, I looked up the song on Youtube and played it out loud to my husband's embarrassment 😄 but I was having too much fun to care 😂.

I fell in love with palm trees when I visited Venice Beach. I had seen palm trees on television before, and I never thought I would like them. However, when I saw them lining the streets in LA, I was in awe. There is something so majestic about them. The feeling is indescribable. Or maybe I'm just a tree-nerd 😁😅

Oh no... I spilled chilli on the office floor! 2What do I do? The whole office is going to stink!!! 🤢😂
I'm sure you recognize this famous scene from "The Office" when Kevin spills Chilli and tries desperately to scoop it up 😂. I got to experience this and many more hilarious events from the popular tv series in "The Office Experience".

Dreaming of Hollywood from Griffith Park...
Ever since I was a kid, I always wanted to see the Hollywood sign up close. It's one of those iconic symbols of LA and California that make you think of movies, stars and glamor. On this trip to LA, I finally got to see it from Griffith Park, one of the best places to get a view of the sign and the city. Griffith Park is also home to the Griffith Observatory, another landmark that I love. It was a beautiful day, just before the blizzard hit. I was lucky to see it on that day because the next day it was not visible clearly anymore due to bad weather.
Have you seen the Hollywood sign? I would love to hike closer to it. However, I didn't have the time to do that on this trip. Perhaps, on my next visit!

I'm back from California. I thought that this would be a sunny vacation, and for the most part, it was. On the last day, however, there was a blizzard, which is very rare in California, and heavy rain 🌧. Still, the sunny days were magical. I loved waking up to a view of sunny skies and the beach. I spent a relaxing time walking from Santa Monica to the eclectic Venice Beach.
The vibe at Venice Boardwalk is so vibrant during the day. My Uber driver, on the way from the airport to my hotel, told me that Venice Beach was considered to be a dangerous area about 10 to 20 years ago. Now, it has undergone some gentrification and has turned into a cool neighborhood with an artsy style. I was still wary of staying there for too long after dark, as warned by several locals. During the day, however, it's fun to shop for souvenirs, skateboard, or rent a bike on this boardwalk. You can also watch people try their skill at the skatepark or flex their muscles at Muscle Beach.

Yesterday morning, I visited the end of route 66 at Santa Monica Pier. We had an early breakfast. Of course, my body is still on Toronto time, and the stomach doesn't understand the 3 hour time difference between TO and LA. It growls and rumbles when it needs food regardless of the time on the clock. Fortunately, some breakfast places had opened. On arrival, our waiter in the restaurant said, "Welcome to my scenic office." He gestured at the ocean view and said he felt lucky to work there even on weekends. Looking at the beautiful surroundings, I agreed with him. I had a delicious breakfast burrito oozing with melted cheese and bacon bits with a tangy tomato chutney 😋.
After an early breakfast, we strolled on the beach and the Santa Monica pier. It was still a bit chilly, but it got warmer as the morning progressed.The attractions on the pier hadn't opened yet, so the place was practically empty and I got to enjoy the beach waves and the end of the historic route 66 in peace.
Route 66 is one of the most famous highways in the US that connects the east to the west. I remember I had seen parts of this highway in Arizona when I visited the Grand Canyon.
After the pier, we explored the city of Santa Monica some more. The city is gorgeous. I was awed by the scenery, the palm trees, and other vegetation. I tried hard to capture their beauty on camera but somehow failed miserably. The camera didn't catch my sense of wonder. However, it's still recorded in my memory to be enjoyed again and again in the future 😁

My smile says, "Holidays have begun!". Many of you may not know, I'm a Prof. and it's reading week. It's time for a much awaited vacation. Will I be so relaxed after this week ? Probably not! 😄. For now, though, it's time to enjoy some sun 🌞. California, here we come 😍.
