New Beginner Finnish Course starts September 14! 🇫🇮
Ready to start learning Finnish language and culture? Join us Monday evenings from 6:30–8:00 pm on Zoom. You’ll develop practical Finnish language skills while discovering unspoken cultural nuances, exploring seasonal celebrations, enjoying Finnish music, and trying out a recipe or two.

This course is perfect for complete beginners as well as those with some prior knowledge of the language who have never formally studied it or need a refresher.

The $235 tuition fee covers all lessons, access to our virtual learning space, and course materials.

As we enter summer break, we would like to share some memories from the 65th Anniversary Gala. Thanks to Eetu Myrskog

These images showcase the fun we have together and illustrate how we have developed into a welcoming village for everyone - children, families, adult students, volunteers, and friends. Our students range in age from 0 to 80, while our volunteers and assistants span from young adults to seniors.

Thank You for Your Birthday Greetings! 💙🇫🇮

As we celebrated Toronto Finnish School's 65th Anniversary, we were deeply touched by the generous support. We received so many wonderful birthday greetings - both written messages and video greetings. Unfortunately, it was not possible to share all of the greetings during the Gala program. However, we are delighted to share many of the messages with our community here on social media.

Thank you for celebrating this milestone with us and for being part of our story. 💙 Kiitos! Thank you!

While planning the 65th Anniversary Gala, we wished it would be a celebration of our past, present, and future, and would give us a chance to connect, reconnect, and create new memories. It was all that and more. Thank you for being part of our journey and our Suomi-koulu village. 🇫🇮💙❤️🇨🇦

Only 2 more days… 🥳

We look forward to celebrating the Toronto Finnish School’s anniversary with you this Saturday. As you prepare for the party, we wanted to send a few helpful hints to you.

—-Doors will open at 3:30 and appetizers and bar will be open for service. The program will begin at 4:15 and conclude around 7:30 - but music and dancing continue!

—-The Latvian Centre is located at 4 Credit Union Dr, North York and parking is available. (Please consider driving with friends.)

—-Coffee, water and juice are complimentary. A cash bar will be open for other beverage choices such as wine, beer, and more.

—-Seating is 10 people per table. We invite you to sit with friends and strangers-who-will-become-friends! We look forward to welcoming almost 200 guests of all generations!

—-A silent auction and raffle will have wonderful prizes including Fazer, Marimekko, Muumin, TFC, and more!

—-The School Shop will be open for shopping for your favourite Finnish treats. (Cash, credit card, and e-transfer accepted.)

—-A few tickets are still available – contact [email protected] to reserve additional tickets.
