Hey Canadians and those traveling to Canada this summer have you hear about the Canada Strong Pass that starts today?

From June 20 to Sept. 2, 2025, the Canada Strong Pass will offer expanded access to Canada’s nature and culture across the country, helping families discover and celebrate Canada throughout the summer.

The Pass includes:

Parks Canada: Free admission for all visitors to national historic sites, national parks and national marine conservation areas administered by Parks Canada and a 25% discount on camping fees.

National museums and the Plains of Abraham Museum: Free admission for children aged 17 and under and a 50% discount for young adults aged 18 to 24.

VIA Rail: Free travel for children aged 17 and under when accompanied by an adult and a 25% discount for young adults aged 18 to 24.

Selected participating provincial and territorial museums and galleries: Free admission for children and a 50% discount for young adults aged 18 to 24.

No registration or physical pass is necessary; just show up and enjoy the benefits offered at participating establishments.

The Pass is open to all visitors, whether you are Canadian or coming from abroad.

Many of my wedding couples will do something similar a small intimate civil (legal) ceremony at home then their big celebration in destination.

What an amazing conference. Saw old friends and made new ones. Did site visits of 7 different properties in the area. Met with suppliers, tourism boards, hoteliers one on one. Learned about industry trends and more. Going over my book of notes to see what I’m going to implement first.

I’m out of the office at the Romance Travel Forum in Cancun this week.

It’s the premier destination wedding conference.

Day 1-2 I was at the Hilton Cancun Mar Caribe. This family friendly resort is right in the Cancun hotel zone and close to everything if you want to get off property.

Well appointed rooms lots of pools and a decent beach. Mother Nature has been cruel this week with cloudy weather and lots of seaweed washing up on shore.

Wedding couples - they only do one wedding a day and there are lots of locations to choose from.

Reservations are required for the a la carte restaurant. Which are good.

Our first night we had a welcome dinner at the Mexican restaurant where they were trying out some new menu options on us. The Pork belly was amazing.

Day 2 - early morning site inspection followed by some training on the Hilton brand and their portfolio of properties here.

After training ma few girls and I took an uber to a local grocery store to pick up some things. It was a short a cheap ride off property. Fun fact - most uners are not allowed on the resort grounds to pick up people so you will have to walk down to their main gate to meet them, however they can drop you off at the lobby.

The hotel had reserved some cabanas by the pool for us which was so nice to relax and get to know the other delegates.

That evening they surprised us the a Mayan wedding ceremony with a real couple. They were actually getting married on Saturday. In this Mayan ceremony the couple saluted and gave thanks to the 4 elements of the earth.

We also had the opportunity to give a give an offering as well for ourselves by setting our intentions with some seeds in our hand then throwing into the ocean.

Reception was on the pool deck and it was lovely. After dinner we danced till our feet hurt then fell into bed.
