Summer is almost officially here! And there is so much to appreciate in North Bay this year.

Chris and I just got back from a North Bay getaway and there are honestly so many things to do in this underrated city. No matter what you get up to on your summer trip, taking a little time to relax and appreciate a sunset on Lake Nipissing is a must.

Which will you do first this summer? Let us know in the comments!

Summer mode is officially loading here in Ontario! ā˜€ļø

Chris and I have stayed in some truly unforgettable places, but this cozy and unexpected stay is the PERFECT spot to plan on taking a little getaway this summer.

is all about slow days on the lake.

What to expect:
- your choice of 4 retro themed, spacious cottages (1 lake-facing and 3 steps from the lake), each with 2-3 bedrooms, full kitchen & private bathroom
- private shaded porch with BBQ and outdoor seating
- shared beachfront, communal sitting areas & fire pit
- shared sauna access
- shared access to 2 kayaks, 1 canoe and 1 SUP
- all the permission you need to slow down and enjoy summer!

Pictured here is ā€œThe Gordonā€ cabin:
- 3 bedrooms (1 Queen, 1 Double, 2 Twin)

The Finch is all about embracing sunny days, sitting back, and appreciating the relaxed pace of lake life and summer on Lake Nipissing

The world’s largest collection of canoes is housed right here in Ontario!

The Canadian Canoe Museum has newly reopened in Peterborough, ON, making for an extra special excuse to plan a trip to this dynamic city.

Whether you’re a passionate canoeist or just curious about canoeing history, usages and culture, this museum is incredible for all ages.

Don’t forget to look into unique experiences during your visit, like:
- learn to canoe programming for all ages
- guided canoeing experiences on the water beside the museum
- Builder in Residence programs
- Collection Hall guided tours with a museum curator

Comment ā€œTRAILSā€ for all the tips on using the Trans Canada Trail!

Cycling season in Ontario is here! I’ve spent a lot of time on trails across this province, many of which just so happen to be part of the longest trail network in the world—the Trans Canada Trail.

The TCT is a network of over 29,000km of mixed use trails across Canada. We have a wide variety of trails to use in Ontario, and now that cycling season it’s here it’s about time we get out and take full advantage of them!

6 of my favourite trails are listed in this post, but you can always use the TCT map to locate the trails closest to you or closest to your next trip in the province.
