I had the chance to visit Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres, one of the newest and most luxurious adults-only resorts in the Cancun area — and it truly stands out.

What impressed me most:

With the looming Air Canada strike starting August 16, 2025, it's more important than ever to review your travel insurance. Most providers don’t cover labour disputes unless you bought your policy before the strike news broke. This is why I always advocate purchasing as soon as you book your trip! ✈️

TICO - Travel Industry Council of Ontario just shared some fascinating insights—and it turns out age really does matter when it comes to travel this year!

Here’s a quick breakdown 👇

🏕️ 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞:
53% are more likely to travel within Ontario
50% plan to explore more of Canada

🇺🇸 𝐔.𝐒. 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐥 𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐤𝐲:
40% have delayed or changed their U.S. travel plans
For older travellers (65+), that jumps to 61%, avoiding the U.S.

🌎 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐥 (𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐔.𝐒.):
36% of those under 35 are planning international trips
Compared to just 23% of those 55+

🧠 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐥𝐮𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬?
76% say U.S. politics is shaping their plans
Tariffs and a weak dollar are hitting older travellers harder
Only 34% of Ontarians feel confident their travel will go as planned (That drops to 27% for 55+, but nearly half of under-35s remain optimistic!)
