Which masterclass would you have been first in line
for??
Ulta Beauty World's Masterclass in Orlando was packed, but everything moved along. Lines were long, the room was full, and it still felt somewhat organized.
Each session lasted about 20 minutes, 9 in total.
Jonathan Van Ness
Anastasia Beverly Hills
Medicube
Cecred
HalfMagic Beauty
Morphe Brushes
Natasha Denona
Saje Wellness
Snif
and the energy in that room was real.

People showed up ready.
But this unboxing? That was the moment.
An iHome vanity case filled with a gift from each brand.
I opened it and just paused for a second.
And then seeing Anastasia in action to close things out... yeah, that stayed with me. She is a master of her craft!
So tell me, If you had to pick:
JVN or Cécred?

Hello Travelers!

A friend got laid off, invited me to Rio, and I booked the flight before I could overthink it. Burned through my American Airlines miles and went. Brazil wasn’t even on my 2026 travel list.

I landed on edge, the kind that comes from years of headlines sitting in the back of your mind.

And then something changed. Yes, Rio is a lot to take in at first. It can be loud, it makes you pay attention. But the longer I stayed, the more things made sense.

The rhythm, the energy, the way people move through the city.

I left thinking about it more than I expected to.

So I wrote the Brazil travel guide I wish I had before going.

Yes, the practical stuff, but also the context that helps you understand what you’re stepping into.

If Brazil has been on your list but you keep hesitating, I get it.
I almost talked myself out of it too.

A first-hand Brazil travel guide with visa info, safety tips, budget advice, and cultural insights from a trip to Rio de Janeiro.

If you’re planning a trip to Quebec City and wondering where to eat, here’s the breakdown I wish I had:

• Best burger and poutine with a view of the Château (the most photographed hotel in the world)
• Where to go for traditional Quebecois comfort food
• A genuinely good vegan restaurant
• An accessible Michelin tasting menu for $99 CAD
• Where solo dining actually feels normal

I’ve eaten my way through the city across five different trips and organized everything by price range so you can plan realistically.
And I want to say something specifically to the women who feel nervous about dining alone.

That used to be me.

I used to overthink walking into a restaurant by myself. I’d imagine the pity table. The awkward glances. The invisible spotlight.

It never happened.

What did happen? Better service. A seat at the bar with a full view of the kitchen. Conversations with bartenders and people sitting at the bar.

Dinner with friends is beautiful. But there’s also something powerful about treating yourself like you are the occasion.

You are excellent company.

You don’t need to wait for someone else to experience something beautiful.

If eating alone has been holding you back from a beautiful experience, you’ll be fine. Truly.

Here’s the full Quebec City restaurant guide... every place I’ve personally eaten, rated for solo-friendliness:

I've spent 5 trips eating my way through Quebec City. This guide covers the best restaurants for solo travelers, from budget poutine to Michelin-starred dining.

Yesterday was World Cancer Day. It is a day to raise awareness about cancer, encourage prevention, improve early detection, and promote equitable access to treatment and care.

Here I am… a Breast cancer survivor.
35 countries.
Still going.

October 9, 2018 taught me that “someday” is a lie we tell ourselves when we’re scared to live now.

Cancer tried to take everything.
It doesn’t get my dreams too.
I don’t travel in spite of cancer.
I travel because of it.

Cancer didn’t teach me to travel more. It taught me to stop pretending I have time to waste.

I spent too long fighting to stay alive to waste what I have left waiting for the “right time.”
There is no later—only now.

For every cancer survivor reading this: you already survived the hardest thing. You earned this life. Live it.

The Quebec Winter Carnival is North America's LARGEST winter festival and it's absolutely magical for solo travelers.

Check out my complete 2026 guide covering everything: dates, costs, what to pack, where to stay, and why this festival is perfect if you're traveling alone or not.

Night parades, ice palaces, maple taffy on snow, and yes — Bonhomme the giant snowman mascot.

If a winter wonderland trip has been on your bucket list, this is your sign.

I just updated my annual travel conference guide and I need to have an honest conversation with you.

Here’s what I’m attending in 2026:

TBEX North America - Richmond, VA (June 23-26)

Latino Travel Fest - NYC (Summer - dates TBA)

TBEX International - Almaty, Kazakhstan (August 20-23)

A smaller calendar this year because I’m prioritizing events that align with my goals and destinations I genuinely want to explore in depth.

What I learned after attending 4 conferences in 2025:
Quebec City and Donegal, Ireland were already on my radar.
Attending conferences there meant I got to explore them in depth, not just hit the tourist spots.
You meet locals.
You learn from tourism boards about “hidden gems”.
You see destinations through the lens of people who actually live and work there.

The best partnerships came from conversations I didn’t plan. Creators and brands I met on tours, at dinners, and while networking

But here’s what nobody talks about:
Most creators show up to conferences and freeze when it’s time to pitch.

We stand in corners (I’ve been there too) at networking mixers because we didn’t know what to say.

We leave the conference with zero leads because introducing ourselves as a business feels uncomfortable.

I’ve watched talented Latina/o/x creators do this, even if we showed up to the conference. I’ve done it myself.

So I’m doing something about it because I am tired of being one of 5 latin content creators in a room.

I am cohosting PITCHING CON PODER with Taima from Poor in a Private Plane

A 4-week workshop series for Latina/o/x creators who want to stop being nervous on the conference floor.

Starting January 26 | Live on Zoom |
What we cover:

Week 1 (Jan 26): Mindset, Identity & Personal Brand
Why conferences matter for access, relationships, and money. Shifting from “creator” to “business owner.” What makes your perspective valuable.

Week 2 Researching Conferences & Brands
How to identify aligned brands and DMOs. What brands actually want and how to spot it fast. Building your target list without drowning in information.

Week 3 Documentation, Assets & Rates
What actually matters in a media kit. Portfolio basics when you’re new. How to set rates without fear or imposter syndrome.

Week 4 Pitching & Mock Practice
Anatomy of a strong pitch. Introducing yourself naturally. We practice this live.

This is for you if:
You’re thinking of attending a conference but don’t know if it’s worth it.

You’re attending your first conference and don’t know what to expect

You’ve been to conferences but left empty-handed

You freeze when brands ask “what do you do?”

You don’t know how to price yourself

You’re tired of watching other creators get the deals while you stand on the sidelines.

You don’t need 10K followers to pitch at conferences. You need to know what you bring to the table. You need to understand your brand well enough to spot when an opportunity actually fits. And you need the confidence to walk away when it doesn’t.
