There’s something special about cooking while on holiday…when there’s time to actually enjoy it. At our holiday home, the kitchen isn’t an afterthought. It’s stocked with utensils, appliances and everything you need to prepare the fresh food from the markets that you’ve picked out in the County. It’s spacious and can host multiple chefs at different stations!

Whether you’re a chef-at-heart or just want to slice up County peaches and pour a glass of wine, it’s all here…from sharp knives and cast iron pans, to China platters and pizza gear.

Guests tell us time and again: having a real kitchen makes their stay feel more relaxed, more personal, and way more delicious.

And if you’re not in the mood for cooking, than one of our amazing personal chefs will also work easily around the kitchen to prepare an unforgettable meal!!

A picturesque holiday home with so much County charm that it’ll knock your socks iff!!! Come with your favourite people to make some memories and enjoy all that the County offers.

This gem has a private pool, playground, basketball court, large stone made pizza oven, screened in porch, games for rainy days, bonfire pit, cozy parlour with fireplace, large dining room, 4 bedroom with two primary bedrooms with king beds, foosball table, retro Nintendo system, and centrally located in the county close to beaches, picton, wineries and breweries and restaurants!!

Only availability this summer is: August 12-15

We have a little garden with seasonal goodies. We have a ton of rhubarb in the spring and then we have a ton of raspberries in the summer. No need to head to the farm because you have your own picking spot right on the property! It’s super yummy and a fun morning activity to pick some fresh berries to add to your breakfast parfait!!

Next guests arriving tomorrow will be the lucky ones!!

It was a while back when my 4 kids and husband spent a lot of time out at Old Milford House. When we were there, we would dive into the many chores that awaited us, one of which was stacking the wood for the wood-fired oven. The whole family pitched in even my little 5 year old daughter! It was never quite an eventful task except for the day we met Chippie.
Desperate for a pet of any kind…preferably a dog…my kids were constantly asking. I would happily live on a hobby farm but my husband doesn’t share the same dreams…so it was a hard ask.

Back to the wood stacking! I was filling the wheelbarrow with chopped wood by the shed on our property and my eldest would wheel it up to the oven where the rest of the family was ready to stack.

Well it was a huge surprise when I heard my kids screaming for me, “mom, mom, come we found something!!” I ran to find a tiny pink being at the bottom of the wheelbarrow. There she was…a miracle that Chippie was still alive. Immediately, my kids asked if we could take care of it…I said yes and at the same time my hubby said no. Guess who won!!!

I asked my kids what they thought it could be…I mean I had an inkling but when they said perhaps a chipmunk, I convinced myself that was the truth. And so Chippie came home with us. We got all her supplies and did all our research and there I was waking up through the night for this cute little creature trying to give it a second chance. I also couldn’t bare disappointing my kids when we found out Chippie needed to be fed every 4 hours. They looked at me with puppy eyes, “mom, you’ll wake up to feed her, please?!” Of course I will…I mean I’ve had 4 kids…sleepless nights are part of the job….however I just want to add…it’s not the same when it’s not for your own kids! Lol. Anyways, in a very short time, my kids fell in love, but unfortunately Chippie didn’t last the week. Perhaps she did get harmed in the wood stack…we will never know…BUT one thing is for sure…..Chippie was never a chipmunk. We all know what she truly was…hint, hint, nudge, nudge.

Chippie now rests under the shade of one of our trees.

I just had to take a photo. What a beautiful sight! I’m prepping for a little pool party this afternoon to hang out with our local neighbours and friends. It’s not often we have a chance to enjoy Old Milford House in the summer as we host all our guests but when we do come down it’s always fun to appreciate this beautiful place and to catch up with our favourite locals right here in the County. Our friends in the county that we’ve made over the years.

But just to set the scene, the windows are open at Old Milford House…because I love the country air. I can hear my kids (and their older cousin) outside laughing and playing in the pool. I’m in the kitchen after a run over to prepping the pizza toppings and other ingredients for this afternoon.

I love moments like these. Simple, but soo good.
