Mantas! This was my first time seeing Mantas and I'm in love. What beautiful creatures!
I got to snorkel with them first at a cleaning station (where small fish clean inside their mouth and their skin) and then I was able to SCUBA dive with them the next day 😍

(the snorkeling video has bad sound as there were boats nearby so you can mute that...I can't seem to turn that off on my end in Facebook, sorry).

On our full day tour in Raiatea we did a modern outrigger canoe tour with to snorkel, see dolphins and visit Marae de Taputapuatea, a UNESCO-listed site. We had a fabulous day on the water and learning about the historical importance of Raiatea.

Out next island is Raiatea. A short 10 min flight from Bora Bora.
We had a picnic lunch by the ocean, stopped at the botanical gardens then found a cute Italian spot to eat dinner.

Our last full day in Bora Bora hubby and I went scuba diving with mantas and sharks and then spent the afternoon around the pool for the kids and watching a cultural presentation on how to make Poisson cru (a lime preserved fish dish with coconut milk and vegetables). Then we participated in a constellation and history tour going to a local family’s private motu to see how they used the stars for navigation. Amazing tour, I highly recommend it.

We didn’t have very good internet in Raiatea so I’m very behind.
Our first full day in Bora Bora was nothing short of spectacular. We did a snorkelling trip in the morning to go to some coral gardens, swam with mantas 😍 at one of 4 cleaning stations around the island then saw a group of over 30 eagle rays. The picture of the manta is a picture of our GoPro so you will have to wait for better quality! Then we had the afternoon to enjoy the hotel. The colours of the water are mind blowing and there are no filters.

We flew from Moorea to Bora Bora on a quick 45 min flight where we took a boat transfer to our hotel. We checked into a beautiful overwater bungalow with with champagne, sparkling apple juice for the kids and stunning views ❤️
After a quick dinner we headed over to the mainland to watch a Heiva which is a huge cultural festival that happens here every July. Dancing, singing and beautiful traditional dress.

A bit of a phot dump from the last few days. We had some more time in Moorea hitting the roadside food stalls, smoothies, açai bowls and an amazing dinner spot called Papi Coné where the owner serves up AMAZING food from a food truck in her front yard! Highly recommended!! I did get in some diving but that will be a post for later when I can download my pictures.
Moorea you were amazing and I’ll be back ❤️

We did an ATV tour in Moorea in the morning and had Tiko tour us around to various lookout points. We stopped at Belvedere lookout, Rainbow Mountain, a pineapple plantation, saw some fresh water eels (which were huge) and stopped for a smoothie at a roadside stand! It was a great morning! took great care of us!

We spent the day and drove around the whole island of Tahiti. We stopped at a temple to see the Marae and then headed on to the grottos which was really cool. We stopped at a small beach for a picnic lunch with crystal clear water and a bit of white sand. All the other beaches we’ve seen have been black sand. We then went to Teahupoo which was the site of the surfing events for the 2024 Paris olympics. Our final@stop was at the Faarumal waterfalls which drop 300 ft. Such a fun and adventurous day!

We did an amazing 4x4 tour with and Rocky took us into the extinct volcano caldera of the main island of Tahiti. We stopped at waterfalls, an ancient marae temple, took in the amazing scenery and commentary of this beautiful island. It was a fabulous trip!
We then finished off the day watching the sunset at the Reeftop bar.

I asked Chat GPT to make me into a doll (Barbie Style). I think it's not bad :D

Which do we like better??

It kept giving me multiple pairs of sunglasses and water bottles ahaha!
