Yes if it was mentioned people could have prepared for this big change. People may have been able celebrate Canada Day as Canada Day instead of changing something that’s going to be now a memory for the rest of our lives that EVERYONE HAS THE RIGHT to feel the way they do. A selection of people don’t care about the sign saying Sauble and a lot others do. Also, considering local businesses owners also have to take this huge impact in as well. Weather you are for it or against it, it is a huge change. Driving up to the sign yesterday was a complete “heart sink, swallow your tongue” moment. This morning I get up, and I’m literally staring out into the docks of Port Elgin with red teared up eyes. I support everyone. The Town Of Bruce Peninsula and the good people in it. I do my best to support everyone in Sauble beach & My Friends of the Saugeen First Nations & Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation. One of my best friends in the whole world is there. No matter what has been said about me. Doing what I do comes with good publicity or bad publicity. It’s something l’ll never get away from. I’m for change that will make Sauble Beach & the surrounding area a better place. This place needs change when it comes to becoming a community that is willing to work together and build Sauble Beach into something to be truly proud of when it comes to the issues that have taken place on many different levels. NO ONE IS BETTER THEN ANYONE. That’s why I deal with my own issues the way I do, and going to continue to. If you can’t try and work together, “not just the isssue with the town and the indigenous” BIGGER issues in amongst the Town Of Sauble Beach” The S**t Has To Stop. Going online and talking & about each other is disgusting on both sides. I know it’s too much to ask for but. As I finish this novel. My eyes are dry and let’s move on, and get to work! Now Let’s live ourBET F$&@!’n at Beach it is the way it is &

🌊 Did You Know? Sauble Beach Has a Rich and Powerful History! 🌊

Before it became one of Ontario’s favourite summer destinations, Sauble Beach was part of the traditional territory of the Saugeen Ojibway Nation, who have stewarded these lands for generations. The name comes from the French word “sable” (sand), once used to describe the beautiful Sauble River — La Rivière au Sable.

In the early 1900s, Sauble began transforming from a quiet logging area into a booming beach town. Cottages popped up, families came to swim and relax, and by the mid-20th century, Sauble was the place to be for sunny getaways and classic beach fun. 🏖️🌞

But this place holds more than just memories of sunburns and sunsets. Recent court rulings have reaffirmed that much of the north end of the beach is Saugeen First Nation land — a vital step in recognizing the community’s long-standing rights and connection to the shoreline. 🧡

As we enjoy the waves, trails, and iconic Sauble sunsets, let’s also honour the deep roots and shared history that make this place truly special. 🌅✊
