🔺 Highway 97 (Alaska Highway) Travel Update – June 11, 2025 12:45 hrs

Due to wildfire, there is a road closure between Grouse Trail and Toad Mountain Rd for 161.9 km.

🚧 ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE – BEAR MOUNTAIN WINDMILLS 🚧

Planning a visit to the windmills? Please note there will be a road closure north of Turbine 14 at Bear Mountain Windmills from June 17 to July 11, 2025 (approximate).

📍 Access north past this point will be restricted.
📅 Closure Dates: June 17 – July 11, 2025
📌 Location: Road block north from Turbine 14 (see attached map)

Please plan accordingly and share this with others who may be heading up to the windmills during this time.

🔺 Highway 97 Travel Update – June 2 @ 9:25 PM 🔺

Public Services and Procurement Canada has reopened Highway 97 (Alaska Highway) with single-lane alternating traffic between kilometer 580 and 589.

⚠️ Expect delays, reduced visibility, and changing conditions. Please drive with caution and follow all signage.

🔥 The Summit Lake wildfire (G90413) continues to burn approximately 93 km west of Fort Nelson, currently estimated at 2,158 hectares and exhibiting aggressive behaviour.
