⭐️ The perfect night out for the Vancouver Mysteries Game Operators and Experience Hosts - tickets to Agatha Christie’s The Mouse Trap! Recently some folks from The Arts Club played one of our outdoor escape games as our guests and then they invited us to this play in return ♥️ (Thank you! it was fabulous!)
👏 Also, a shout out to our friend Pamela from the Vancouver Lookout - she took this picture & somehow squeezed all 8 of us into this one shot! It is rare to capture so many of us in one spot. Here we have from left to right: Fergus, Jaira, Mark (Head of HQ), Jenny (both a Game Operator & our Stage Manager), Ryan (world’s greatest detective, IYKYK), Akshaya, Eliza and Tanya (owner).
🕵🏻 Our thoughts on Agatha Christie's The Mouse Trap: it set a standard for live mystery productions including the murder mystery games and immersive mystery experiences that Vancouver Mysteries produces! The Mousetrap is a whodunit with suspects, clues, detective and plot twists that invites the audience to try to solve the mystery.
🍿📚♟️It is also set in a large house (manor/mansion) just like some of our other favourite mysteries in film, literature and games. Just a few examples: The House on Haunted Hill, Knives Out, And Then There Was None, 13 Dead End Drive and Clue. Interesting to note the board game Clue (aka Cluedo) was created in 1943 and that The Mousetrap’s origin story begins with a radio play Agatha Christie wrote for the BBC in 1947, so the game Clue actually precedes the play The Mouse Trap by four years.
🔍 More trivia: The Mousetrap holds the record as the world’s longest running play: it opened in London’s West End in 1952 and ran continuously until March 2020, when the stage performances shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic (it re-opened in May 2021).
