Not your typical cemetery visit and that’s exactly the point. This was an unexpected highlight and deep dive into the culture of the beautiful people of Campeche.

In Pomuch, Mexico, Día de Mu***os isn’t just about remembering the dead, it’s about caring for them. Families return to the cemetery each year to lovingly clean the bones of their relatives, brushing away dust and replacing the cloths they rest in. It’s intimate, it’s sacred, and it’s their way of keeping the connection alive, literally hands-on.

These colorful tombs aren’t about mourning. They’re about legacy, respect, and a belief that those who’ve passed are still part of everyday life. A place to stop and say hello.

Different culture, different lens but the same core truth. Nobody’s really gone if they’re remembered right. This was an experience we won't soon forget.

The jungle is a truly WILD place. I'm still in awe over this Great Curassow. We're already planning our return. So much more to see and experience. Viva Mexico! 🇲🇽

You don’t stumble into a bird like this, you earn it. Jungle miles, sweat equity, and a little bit of luck and then boom, the king of the canopy shows himself.

The Great Curassow isn’t just a pretty face it’s one of the largest game birds in the Neotropics, known for that glossy black plumage, curled crest, and that unmistakable bright yellow k**b on the beak. Males look like this, jet black with a white belly while females can vary wildly in color. (My next jungle hunt!)

They spend most of their time on the ground but roost in trees, moving quietly through thick jungle terrain. Smart, elusive, and not something you check off the list without putting in the work.

This one right here? Southern Mexico delivered in a big way. Mas Grande!

Deep in the jungle of southern Mexico, chasing one of the most unique birds on the planet.

The colors on an ocellated turkey don’t even look real until you’re standing over one.

This hunt was something special. Every step, every sound, every second. Grateful for the experience, the people, and the adventure. 🌿🦃
