My heart is full and let me share why🫶As I was staining my deck for hours and hours over this past week I listened to many educational podcasts. Some on brain health, others on things such as AI, relationships, business, women’s health, fitness and life in general. During my rest or off time I was working with clients to send out quotes or booking their memorable vacations. My phone has also been dinging with the best texts from clients who are in their destination or just returned home. What has been incredible is sharing their happiness with them. I genuinely mean this.♥️A few that I have received are pictures/texts from clients who were in New York celebrating a milestone birthday. Knowing their traveling style quite well after booking their freestyle vacation for them last year in Europe I worked hard to find a hotel for them that truly fit their style and they loved it🙌We have clients cruising in Alaska who have also been enjoying themselves and texting me already about a tropical 2026 destination. I have one special family member who reached to me last year for a vacation but it didn’t happen so we went to work this year to find exactly what fit her style just outside of Puerto Vallarta. She has been sending me the most beautiful pictures and I’m hoping for one of her beautiful drawings soon because she is a talented artist that has a gift for capturing the details of what she is sitting in front of. This next one will have a post of its own because these clients of ours reached out last fall to book a freestyle tour through Newfoundland. Funny enough, it was a Canadian adventure but really pulled me out of my comfort zone to build. Around this we have clients booking very special vacations right now up to March 2026 already! Weddings, family vacations, couples and friends. When I say the fun of this business never ends I’m not kidding around.
So why take time to stain my deck and not hire someone to do it when it’s this busy? What I have learned is that stepping away from my regular day to day routine is where I learn to expand the most. I could easily be in my office 7 days a week, all day, everyday but that isn’t who I am. I love to work but I also need to grow and growth doesn’t happen inside of 4 walls. Our deck is massive and requires a lot of maintenance (side note, build/buy a house that has a maintenance free deck😂)Kidding aside, the weather was great, fresh air was nice and I proved to myself that I can not only stain the entire deck but I’m not so bad at power sanding too! Don’t tell Mike because next time he better not be conveniently recovering from hip surgery.
I’ll end with this because this was a big takeaway in a podcast that I listen to yesterday that Simon Sinek was being interviewed in. We live in a world that is becoming taken over by AI and everyone doing it themselves but what you can’t take away is human to human interaction when it is filled with emotion. We know that any of you could ask AI where you should take a vacation and then you can pop online and book it on your own through any online platform. This has had many people asking us how and why someone would book with a Travel Agent these days. What I loved hearing Simon say is that you can’t ever replace one person caring for another, therefor he isn’t threatened by AI. It is a tool but it isn’t a human. You could text AI and say hey I had a great vacation, thank you so much but what you get for a response back will be automated just like the creation of your vacation. It’s not good or bad, it’s just what you want out of your life. This is why we aren’t for everyone, we are Travel Agents for those looking to work with a Professional and not an online tool. He used a great example of someone you care about giving a speech and you saying that was amazing, how did you come up with that!?Their response, I got the entire thing from AI and it was so fast & easy vs learned all I could about that person or event and then I went to work on creating something that really felt like it fit what they needed. It came from the deepest part of me and I gave it everything I had. ☀️
