🇨🇦 Some updates from the Government of Canada for travelling to the US. 🇺🇸

Not a lot of changes, just know that some existing requirements may be more strictly enforced.

📱💻 Expect enhanced screening, particularly of electronic devices.
To avoid complications switch devices to airplane mode and be ready to show travel details—such as the address of your stay, proof of ties to Canada (like employment or school), and evidence of a legitimate reason and duration for your visit.

Air Canada is planning to discontinue five cross-border routes to the United States, for the winter 2025–26 season. 🇨🇦🇺🇸

The specific routes being discontinued are:
* Montreal (YUL) to Detroit (DTW)
* Montreal (YUL) to Minneapolis (MSP)
* Toronto (YYZ) to Indianapolis (IND)
* Vancouver (YVR) to Nashville (BNA)
* Vancouver (YVR) to Tampa (TPA)

The suspensions are scheduled to begin in September or October 2025, just ahead of the launch of Air Canada’s 2025–26 winter schedule.

From Halifax:
Amsterdam - 6.5 hr flight
Barcelona - 7 hr flight
Dublin - 5.5 hr flight

Paris - 6 hr flight

From St John’s:

Effective July 1, 2025, only electronic tourist visas will be accepted for entry.
No more searching for a pen to fill out the form on the airplane! 🖊️

As of July 1, 2025, only electronic visas will be accepted to enter . If you fly directly from Canada, it should be included in your ticket. If you travel via, or have a stopover in, a third country, you must apply for a visa in advance. https://travel.gc.ca/destinations/cuba

Sonder, by Marriott Bonvoy
Have you stayed at a Sonder property before?
What did you think? 🤔

Sonder offers apartment style hotel accommodations, (similar to Airbnb) for travellers who want a little more space.

The company, (founded in Montreal in 2014) has recently partnered with Marriott Bonvoy.
Bonvoy members can earn and redeem points for their stays. (And we have so many clients that looooove their Bonvoy points 😉).

Where Airbnb offers a range of unique options, Sonder focuses on larger, apartment style spaces and offers a more “consistent, predictable experience”… similar to a hotel.
Sonder properties are available in North America, Europe, and Dubai.

We like the idea of a consistent experience, especially for security and hygiene standards…
