Bumped into this gentleman at SmokerCraft dealer week in Indiana. We had a great talk about fishing and rigging! Then he took me for a rip in his fully decked out Starcraft STX 2050 powered by a Suzuki 250. This guy is a perfect gentleman and a great fisherman! Thanks for the tour Jake Romanack! You are a huge credit to the fishing community and the boating industry!!

Bumped into Capt. Richard Hajecki of Crazy Yankee Sportfishing yesterday. He brought along his SmokerCraft Phantom X2, from New York. Always a great learning experience talking rigging and fishing with him!
He has his Phantom decked out for all fishing situations. Thanks for the tour Rich, and safe travels back home!

Starcraft J7SS17 deck boat! I think I say in the video that this is an 18 ft boat, when in fact its only 17 ft. What an incredible layout! Not sure you'll find another 17 ft boat out there with this much seating!

Awesome crew out for this trip! Took a bit to get things dialed in, but when we did, it was game on! Scored a 4 man limit of Lake Huron gold! Lots of good eating there. Thanks for Booking with Copper Blues Fishing!
The walleye were equally happy with body baits and spoons on this trip. Triple threat spoons, wackm tackle, stingers and pro kings all produced. Bombers, challenger minnows and yo zuri made the mark on the body bait side. Watermelon, fire tiger, green hornet, BBO, and blue bubble were the best patterns. 3,4,5,6,7 colours of lead behind offshore tackle inline planer boards did the bulk of the damage! I was working the the 50 to 70 ft of water.

Lake Huron continues to produce great numbers of good size walleye! There are a few silvers in the mix, but they are certainly more elusive! This group of youngsters were treated to a charter aboard Copper Blues Fishing by a sweet lady! Thanks for booking with me Marion. You and the boys were a blast! They did a great job of hauling in the walleye!
The off Shore boards were again key to our walleye success. Small body baits were the bait of choice on this trip. Pattern didn't seem to matter much, but size did!
3 to 6 colours of leadcore were best.

As a charter Captain, I sure get to meet to some really neat people! This crew of guys and gals were great, and wow did they catch fish! It was another awesome walleye day, but we did get a nice fat coho, and lost another. There was also a monster sheephead in the ! To Jake, Aiden, Lavender and Grace, thanks for fishing with me! I had a blast. Thanks for booking me Jake, see you at IBC.
It was an offshore tackle board meeting that lasted about four hours. The OR12 boards were flawless, towing 3,4,5,6, colours of lead core, combined with body baits and spoons. Stingers in blue bubble and watermelon, triple threat in skeletor and pro kings green hornet were good on the spoon side. BBO bomber, and some challenger minnows were good on the body bait side. Firetiger, and ladybug were good patterns.
The SmokerCraft Phantom got us to and from the fishing grounds in style and comfort!

Great Day, with great people! One of those rare days when the wind, weather and fish all cooperate at the same time!

So the walleye smashfest on Huron has been incredible, but the salmon and trout seem to be pretty elusive lately. It seemed strange to me, given the great water temp and the bait, that there weren't at least some silver fish around. So I started paying closer attention to my fishhawk and the baitballs I was seeing on my sonar. Doesn't always work, but sometimes the little things, and tiny details matter. On this trip, in addition to a beautiful limit of walleye, we pulled out an 8lb brown and a 10 lb king!
The king smoked a reg sized green hornet pro king, down 44 back 75, the brown came courtesy of an offshore tackle OR12 board towing a BBO bomber behind 7 colours of lead core.
The walleye smash took place in the top 30 ft of the water column. Again the offshore tackle OR 12 inline planer boards were magic, towing 3,4,5,6 colours of leadcore, with a nice combo of body baits and small spoons. Watermelon and blue bubble patterns were good ones!

I had a wonderful group from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 out on Lake Huron for a little walleye smackdown! Thank you to Bram, Jasper, Davey and Kim for fishing Copper Blues! We definitely put a little "pressure on the resource" during this trip, making it possible for the group to enjoy a fish fry, before flying back home. Oh, how the Dutch love their fish! Tot ziens until next time!
Offshore Tackle's inline OR12 boards were again the key to our success, taking our leadcore lines out and away from the boat. 3,4,5,6,7 colours all producing. It was more of a spoon bite today. Regular size stingers worked well, blue bubble pattern was excellent today!

Lots of walleye action to be had on this trip. Offshore tackle boards, towing various leadcore lines was the ticket to success! 4,5,6,7 colours all producing fish. It seems important to run a mix of body baits and spoons, and also to change up the size of the baits until you get them dialed in. Offshore tackle boards are perfect for getting your lines out away from the boat! In Huron, the walleye don't want to get up close and personal with your boat! Get those lines way out and way back!
