Greenview Tourism Greenview Tourism is your go-to source for discovering ALL the incredible destinations across Greenview! We are more than just a tourist info centre.

From breathtaking mountain views in Grande Cache to lakeside escapes in the Valleyview area, Greenview is packed with adventure. Located on Highway 40 and surrounded by stunning vistas of the Canadian Rocky Mountains, the Grande Cache Tourism & Interpretive Centre has much to offer the curious traveler and long-time resident. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff are available to answer questions and help you make the most of your time in our beautiful mountain town. We offer hiking guides, maps and loads of information about the area. Along with tourism information, the Centre also showcases the fascinating history of the area through free exhibits and displays: featuring ice age artifacts, Aboriginal heritage and fur trading, full animal mounts, tree and geological descriptions and local industry. There is also a gift shop, art gallery, an intimate movie theatre and space available for meetings and conferences. Make sure to save time to tour the Bird's Eye View Interpretive Park featuring an interpretative trail and gazebo style picnic areas, outside of the Centre. A replica of a “cache” along with other historic buildings are also on site.

While the rest of us are bracing for today's forecast, the Cold Lake Easy Riders were already finding snow at over 2,000 metres on Caw Ridge!

Snow aside, those views are pretty hard to beat! 😍

Celebrating 30 Years - A Legacy of Community, Heritage, and Hospitality

Today, the Grande Cache Tourism & Interpretive Centre welcomes approximately 20,000 visitors each year and serves as a gateway to the region's natural, cultural, and industrial heritage.

Through its interpretive exhibits, art gallery, gift shop, Birds Eye Interpretive Park, and visitor services, the Centre continues to share the stories that make Grande Cache unique.

As we celebrate its 30th Anniversary in 2026, we honour countless volunteers, community organizations, businesses, donors, staff members, and partners whose dedication made this remarkable facility possible. Their vision and commitment created a lasting legacy that continues to inspire residents and visitors alike.

Renewing the Visitor Experience - A Fresh Look for the Future

In 2020, the Grande Cache Tourism Centre underwent significant interior renovations to enhance the visitor experience.

The updates refreshed exhibit spaces while continuing to honour the original vision for the facility. The Centre's original floor plan and interior design were coordinated by renowned artist Robert Guest, whose influence is still evident throughout the building.

The renovation ensured that the Centre remains a welcoming and engaging destination for years to come.

Celebrating Prehistoric History

In 2019, the dinosaur sculpture located in front of the Grande Cache Tourism & Interpretive Centre was donated by the Grande Cache Institution.

The sculpture was created by staff and inmates through the institution's welding program and has quickly become a favourite photo opportunity for visitors.

The display recognizes Grande Cache's important paleontological significance, as the region contains one of the world's largest concentrations of vertebrate tracks and trackways.

A New Attraction Opens - The Official Opening of Birds Eye Park

On August 28, 2010, Birds Eye Interpretive Park officially opened to the public.
The park combines heritage structures, cultural interpretation, educational exhibits, and scenic viewpoints to create a unique outdoor experience that connects visitors with the history of the Grande Cache region.

Today, it remains one of the Centre's most popular attractions.

Naming Birds Eye Park - A Student's Winning Idea

In 2010, a naming contest was held for the new interpretive park. Local Susa Creek School student Gage Joachim submitted the winning name: Birds Eye View Interpretive Park.

His creative contribution became a lasting part of the Tourism Centre's history and helped give the park its unique identity.

A Community Collaboration - Building Birds Eye Interpretive Park Together

The Birds Eye Interpretive Park was created through a strong partnership between the Grande Cache Historical Society, the Town of Grande Cache, and the Aseniwuche Winewak Nation.
The park stands as a testament to what can be achieved through collaboration, shared vision, and community spirit.

A commemorative sign within the park recognizes the dedication of volunteers and the generosity of the many donors whose support made the project possible.
