The Kinder Travel Co Living a planted life: travels, culinary escapades & more! Blog: http://www.anitabora.com/blog I read, I watched documentaries and I opened my eyes.

In 2020, towards the beginning of the pandemic, I transitioned to a totally plant-based lifestyle. It started as a means to improve my health when I found out how harmful some of the foods I was consuming was for me. But a door opened and my research led me to the inhumane conditions of animal agriculture. I found a system that is biased and absolutely makes us blind to cruelty. We all say we love

animals and yet greedily put everything (and everyone) on our plates. Once I learned about the negative impact of animals on our health, combined with the conditions they are bred into and slaughtered for a few fleeting moments to pleasure our taste buds, I knew I could no longer be a part of the system of abuse. My goal now is to try my best - 100% conformity to anything is always a challenge - but to the best of my knowledge, I try and make choices that cause less (or least) harm. In today's society, it's probably impossible to not harm animals (also showing our society is tilted so heavily towards abuse that very people question it) but for me personally, trying is better than not trying at all. It's also brought me a peace of mind which I wrestled with for the longest time (paying someone else to kill for me never sat lightly with me). I was pleasantly surprised when a whole new door opened in terms of food and cuisine. I realized how rich, varied and nutritious the world of plants can be. I discovered how wholesome food is and how many of our staples are plant-based. Unfortunately, we've been conditioned to add animal parts/secretions and bones to feel satisfied. I completed a Forks Over Knives culinary course and a certification from T. Colin Campbell's Institute for Plant Based Nutrition. Armed with new knowledge and confidence, I now try and find the best vegan/plant-based eats/cuisine wherever I travel. My focus shifted from eating anything to being more conscious about what I am putting on my plate, three times a day. During my travels, I also make conscious choices to support vegan restaurants, and vegan friendly establishments. I have now been travelling all over as a vegan and except a few instances, I rarely am starving. If there are no options, I simply refuse to support that establishment. I now share my journey through my travels and would love to see some of you travel the same way. Being more conscious, responsible and ethical is not difficult. It's just being more mindful and living more in alignment with your values. I continue to hike, bike, walk, trek and explore the world and would love to have you join me on my next adventure! Road trip to Oregon. A 'do nothing' low contact trip, staying in our lovely Airbnb, reading, doing yoga and drinking local coffee! Stepped out to try some of the local food offerings and also cooking some meals at home. The weather has been great - sunny, but cool but pretty breezy!

We've been lucky to at least have the freedom to walk, run, hike - taking all the precautions of course! This is a quick, fun video of a recent hike. Got myself a new toy - the GoPro Hero and have been experimenting with it. Used Adobe Spark to put the videos and photos together! And it seems I have lots of time now!

It had snowed a couple of days prior and you can see folks to the right slip a bit while trying to climb up! We made it .5 miles way up and then decided to get back down since it was just too difficult! Next time, come equipped!
