𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗦𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗚𝗔𝗧𝗔𝗚𝗔

Some rivers take you off the beaten path. The Gataga takes you somewhere beyond it.

The road took us 1,700+ km north. The floatplane took us farther. Beyond that, the real adventure began in backcountry where few people ever venture.

Technical rapids, hundreds of kilometres of remote wilderness, abundant fish, a few portages, spectacular Rock Mountain scenery, all shared with a fantastic crew for the journey.

𝙄𝙉𝙏𝙊 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙎𝘼𝘾𝙍𝙀𝘿 𝙃𝙀𝘼𝘿𝙒𝘼𝙏𝙀𝙍𝙎

What a gift it was to spend 13 days on the 𝗨𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝗶𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗥𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿, deep in the wilderness of the 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝘁𝘀𝗶𝘇𝗶 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗮𝘂. It was a privilege to share this incredible river and wild place.

From technical rapids and powerful current to long, quiet stretches where we could settle into the rhythm of the river, every day brought something different.

The challenging paddling, portages, changing weather, abundant fish, rainbows, and spectacular mountain scenery made for an unforgettable journey. We travelled through a landscape that constantly reminded us just how wild and remote this place is.

But when we look back, it’s the laughter around camp, the stories shared, the conversations along the trail, and the people beside us that stand out most.

The curiosity, good humour, resilience, and sense of adventure made the hard days lighter and the good days even better.

Build the skills, confidence, and judgment to respond when a paddling day doesn’t go according to plan with our 𝗦𝘄𝗶𝗳𝘁𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗰𝘂𝗲 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲. This hands-on course covers essential swiftwater canoe rescue skills through practical instruction, realistic scenarios, and plenty of time on the water.

Learn to recognize hazards, manage risk, perform self and team rescues, practice swimming rapids, recover canoes, develop throw-bag skills, use rescue equipment, and make smart decisions in moving water.
