How do you handle “all the things” when traveling? One bag at a time….
Here are my go to tips to make traveling a little easier when you’re juggling a cane or other mobility aid.
👛Sling bag ✔️ this stays up front for easy access to passport, Credit Cards & money and any other travel essentials.
🎒Backpack purse✔️ for hands-free moving. Think minimum requirements for when you arrive at your destination in case your bag doesn’t make it. Consider carrying your essential make up / toiletries, a change of underwear and an outfit if possible.
🧳Checked bag✔️ for everything else. Sometimes carry-on works, but if you are traveling between airports and you have wheelchair service a bag can be very inconvenient.
I find it very difficult to walk with my cane and wheel my suitcase at the best of times. Even if I’m otherwise handsfree it’s a chore. The airport is the easiest & worst place to become exhausted.
Set yourself up for success get through the day get to your destination look forward to the nap, the friends, the family, the glass of wine🍷 at the other end!
