Had the pleasure of spending a few days in Wiarton last month for the opening of Women on Fire at the

The show will be up until the end of the Labour Day weekend in September, check it out if you can!

Got to tour the dreamy studio spaces of curator/artist and her husband-artist .hart.sculptor

Also popped by and got some mini putt and golf in for good measure ⛳️.

Working on a dinnerware set for a change! Using a slab method to start them off -I watched a video by a while ago now and had been wanting to try it out. Still had some casualties and lots of scraps, but it’s sooo much faster and easier on your body!

Feeling incredibly grateful to be represented by at the this weekend, it was lovely to see some exciting and beautiful things and catch up with friends old and new! Also need to shoutout for framing the mirrors last minute-sometimes it takes a village 😅

Some snaps from a project for earlier this year ✨

1. Adding two previously thrown sections to make a large vase

2. The two sections are then “thrown” together to make a strong join and hide the seam.

3. The vase is thrown/shaped again after drying slightly.

4. Vases lined up after bisque firing with glaze plans pictured behind them.

5. The pieces are then spray glazed to achieve a gradient effect.

6. Dusty looking glazed pieces loaded in the kiln before the firing.

7. The same pieces now glossy white and blue after the glaze firing.

8. A selection of the finished pieces (there were 28 in total, so not all of them fit in the photo!)

This Blooming Vase in Indigo Blue is part of the online silent auction, which is open until August 6th.
The net proceeds support bursaries for art students and innovative initiatives at the Fleming College Haliburton Campus (where I teach a course in their Ceramic Certificate Program 😍).
