Today, on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we honour residential school Survivors, the children who never came home, and the families and communities who continue to carry those impacts.

As a First Nations-owned, family-operated business, sharing our histories is personal. Through Turtle Tours, we make space for people to listen, ask questions and better understand the land theyā€™re on and the Indigenous people who call it home.

Yorkton Tribal Operations joined us for a two-day corporate retreat and built a custom itinerary with Turtle Tours.

Their guided experience included the Residential School Museum on Long Plain First Nation, with a catered lunch added on. In Riding Mountain, the group joined us for The Feather We Carry indigenous painting workshop and Auntie Bannock over the fire.

We loved having this group out and seeing everyone enjoy their time together. Thank you for spending two days with us!

ITā€™S OFFICIAL! Our newest Turtle Tours experience is now live!

Under the Same Sky (dark sky tour) takes place at Oodena Celebration Circle at The Forks, one of Winnipegā€™s most overlooked landmarks and a naked-eye observatory.

During this 45-minute Indigenous-led experience, youā€™ll learn how Oodenaā€™s sighting rings and armatures are used to identify stars, follow seasonal changes and mark the sun during the solstices and equinoxes. Youā€™ll learn how to find Polaris and north, hear the Anishinaabe story of Fisher, and see how sky, land, water, seasons and navigation are connected.

And yes, we run it after dark.

NOW BOOKING private groups, small and large groups, corporate groups and school groups, with daytime options available for schools.

A family visiting from Florida joined us for The Feather We Carry Workshop šŸŖ¶

An Indigenous experience where guests paint their own feather while learning the meaning, teachings, and stories shared throughout the workshop.

We loved hearing their review and having the opportunity to share this experience with them while they were visiting Manitoba.

The Feather We Carry Workshop is offered at The Forks in Winnipeg and in Riding Mountain National Park.
