Kwita Izina is among Rwanda’s Mountain Gorilla conservation efforts to monitor and protect the endangered apes. Newborn mountain gorillas are named and monitored as they grow in the forested mountains. The ceremony is a way of creating awareness for mountain gorilla conservation.
