6-day mid-range safari Ngorongoro Crater and more
The Sound of Ngorongoro
Before it was seen,
it was heard.
A sigh across the plains.
A rhythm beneath the earth.
A call formed by Maasai songs,
Datoga echoes,
and Hadzabe voices carried through time.
When you hear it,
Ngorongoro calls.
The wonders call.
Enjoy the Sound of Wonders.
Combined with Tarangire National Park and Lake Eyasi, including a visit to the Hadzabe, this 6-day safari tour focuses primarily on the Ngorongoro Crater.
This gives you the chance to discover the animals in the crater, elephant herds, and the lesser-known landscapes of Tanzania.
Expect to see cheetahs, leopards, lions, elephants, zebras, giraffes, hyenas, rhinos, and much more.
Day 1: Arusha
You land at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport. Your guide will take you to your hotel in Arusha. The evening is intended for acclimatizing and resting from the journey for the upcoming safari.
Day 2: Tarangire
After a two to three-hour drive, you reach Tarangire National Park. You spend the afternoon on a wildlife safari, admiring herds of elephants and lions lounging in the shade. Tarangire is the most beautiful wildlife park in Northern Tanzania. The vast national park is vital to the Tarangire River, which is rich in wildlife. The park is dominated by photogenic baobab and palm trees scattered across the hilly landscape.
Day 3: Ngorongoro
Today, you drive 3-4 hours to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Upon arrival, you descend into the crater for a wildlife safari, where you can spot black rhinos, flamingos, and a wide variety of animals in this natural amphitheater. Ngorongoro is even the largest intact caldera in the world! The breathtakingly beautiful Ngorongoro Crater stands out in almost every safari through Northern Tanzania due to the high concentration of wildlife.
Day 4: Ngorongoro
You return to the crater for a second full day of discovery. During a jeep safari in the crater, you not only enjoy the highest density of wildlife in Africa but also take beautiful photos of passing Maasai people with their goats and cows.
Day 5: Lake Eyasi
A 3-hour drive takes you to Lake Eyasi, a quieter area with a lake and surrounding bush. You spend the day on a short game drive and visiting the Hadzabe and Datoga tribes. Participate in traditional Bushman activities, such as learning hunting techniques and experiencing their way of life.
Day 6: Lake Eyasi/Arusha
You will spend the morning at Lake Eyasi, after which you will drive back to Arusha in 4-5 hours. After a short lunch break, you will be taken to the airport for your flight home, with the wonders of the crater still fresh in your memory. Included:
