We spent some wonderful summer days in Wengen at Grand Hotel Belvedere, and the hotel quickly became one of our favourite parts of the stay.

From waking up to the Jungfrau view to slow afternoons by the pool, these are a few things we loved:
* Starting the day with coffee on the balcony with the Jungfrau view
* The beautiful blend of the hotel’s Art Nouveau heritage and contemporary Alpine design
* The spa and the pools overlooking the mountains
* Slow afternoons in the garden, between the pool and the sunshine
* Dinner at Brasserie Belvedere, with the Lauterbrunnen valley as the backdrop
* An early afternoon drink at Belvi Salon, looking out across the valley
* Having the Männlichen cable car just a short walk from the hotel
* And being in Wengen — a peaceful, car-free village and a wonderful base for exploring the Jungfrau region

A few summer days in Wengen, exploring the Jungfrau region from Grand Hotel Belvedere as our base. Plenty of wonderful experiences:

⭐ Riding the Männlichen cable car — and taking the open-air Royal Ride
⭐ Following the Royal Walk for panoramic views over the Alps
⭐ Hiking from Männlichen to Kleine Scheidegg beneath the Eiger
⭐ Taking the historic cog railway up to Schynige Platte
⭐ Walking through the alpine botanical garden and hearing alphorns at the top
⭐ Exploring the car-free streets of Wengen
⭐ Heading down to Lauterbrunnen to see its dramatic valley and waterfalls
⭐ And returning to Grand Hotel Belvedere for a luxurious stay, enjoy the pool, the Jungfrau view from the room, dinner at the Brasserie Belvedere and drinks at Belvi Salon.

A stay that gave us a full round of experiences and what we love about summer in Switzerland: mountains, villages, trains, hiking and plenty of time to slow down.

One of the most stunning experiences in Switzerland! Exploring and taking the historic train on the Landwasser Viaduct!

Our journey began aboard a historic train, winding through the dramatic landscapes of Graubünden before reaching one of Switzerland’s most iconic railway landmarks. From there, we continued on the Tschouchou train to the bottom of the valley and up again and shuttle to the viewing platforms, where we watched the bright red RhB trains emerge from the tunnel before crossing the graceful stone viaduct high above the valley.
It is more than a scenic viewpoint. It is a chance to experience a remarkable piece of Swiss engineering while taking in the beauty of the surrounding mountains from different perspectives.
✨ Highlights of the experience:
- Riding a beautifully restored historic train through Graubünden
- Seeing the UNESCO-listed Landwasser Viaduct from several viewpoints
- Travelling on the Tschouchou train/ Landwasser Express and shuttle to the panoramic platforms
- Walking to the Hennings and Acatos viewing platforms
- Watching the iconic red RhB trains cross one of Switzerland’s most photographed viaducts

If you’re visiting Davos or travelling through Graubünden, this is an experience you shouldn’t miss.
