ATACALCO, CHILE

ATACALCO, CHILE ATACALCO ATACALCO is a farm located in a valley of the Cordillera de los Andes bordering Argentina (reacheable by trail through "paso Atacalco").

It lies along the Diguillin river, among native forests where the Chilean national flower Copihue can be found -

ATACALCO is located 450km South from Santiago, Chile. The closest cities are Chillan and Pinto and within few kilometers you find
the villages of Recinto, Los Lleuques, Shangri-la, La Trancas, etc. About 40km East there are the internati

onally famous thermal locations and the sky resorts of Termas de Chillan (+Casino) and Nevados de Chillan. Obs: The Laguna del Laja has been declared RESERVA MUNDIAL DE LA BIOSFERA by the UNESCO. This is another big step to protect the Corredor Biológico Nevados de Chillán, Laguna del Laja and the last Huemul population of Central Chile. Transport options:
From Santiago to ATACALCO farm by:
1) Plane or Helicopter (aprox.1-2hrs)
Small aircrafts can land directly at one of the farm's landing places.
2) Car (aprox. 5-6 hrs)
3) Bus (aprox 7-9hrs), to the entrance of the property. The main farm house is 8km from the entrance).
4) Trains to Chillan 2 X daily- (5 hrs) then by taxi, car, bus, bycicle, horse or walking to the farm (8 km):

From the closest public road to the main farm house ( aprox. 8km):
1) Horse/ Motorcycle) (aprox. 30-50 mins
2) Bycicle (aprox. 40 mins)
3) Running/Walking (aprox.1-3 hrs)
