The W Trek is an adventure you must experience at least once in your life. Unsure what it's all about? I'll explain and also tell you where to stay each night.

You will spend the first two nights at your base camp in the Central Sector, where you'll visit the impressive granite columns that give the park its name.

Your third night will take you to the Cuernos sector, alongside stunning hanging glaciers and the turquoise lake known as Nordenskjöld. You will spend the fourth night in the Francés sector, a magical place filled with forests and spectacular views.

Your last day will take you to the ice kingdoms at Grey Glacier, a spectacular finale to this adventure with Las Torres Patagonia.

The puma is one of the most recognizable animals among Torres del Paine wildlife, yet it is one of the park's most elusive mammals. Many visitors take to the trails hoping to spot the fourth-largest feline in the world, but only a lucky little manage to do so.

Those who come across the puma, which weighs between 50-80 kilos (110-170 lbs), are often surprised by one notable difference from other large felines, such as lions or tigers: pumas cannot roar. The sound they make to communicate with their mates is closer to a whistle, scream, or screech.

🏔 People often ask us about the difference between the W Circuit and the O Circuit. While both are designed to enable visitors to explore the natural wonders of Torres del Paine National Park, each has its own unique features.

The circuits are named after the shape of their routes: The O Circuit is a full loop around the Paine Massif, while the W Circuit follows a zigzagging path that primarily borders Lake Nordenskjöld on the southern side of the massif.

The W typically takes 4 to 5 days to complete, whereas the O can take anywhere from 7 to 8 days. Both have their challenges, but one thing you can always count on during your journey is a close encounter with Patagonian flora and fauna, accompanied by the park’s breathtaking scenery.

Las Torres Patagonia would like to express our most sincere thanks to each of the 13 volunteers and the interns who were part of our 2024-2025 season. Their efforts were vital to the development of our bio-intensive vegetable garden, which is among the southernmost in the world.

Thank you Emily, Miguel, M. Javiera, Christoffer, Camilo, Javiera, Matías, Laeticia, William, Vanessa, Benjamín, Daniela and Paloma.

We also extend a special thanks to Benjamín and Bárbara, who interned with us, as well as every staff volunteer who generously planted, harvested and shared beautiful moments with us.

We hope this experience has been as enriching for you as it has been for our garden and that you have gained valuable lessons about agroecology and come to understand that farming is not a set-in-stone recipe.
