What makes more than 12,000 runners gather in one mountain town?
At Chongli 168 2026 , athletes from 25 countries and regions spent three days crossing the forests, ridgelines and alpine landscapes of Chongli. Among them were 204 elite runners and 183 international participants, making the race one of Asia’s largest single-event trail-running gatherings.
Celebrating its tenth edition in 2026, Chongli 168 has grown alongside the destination itself. Mountains once known internationally for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics now welcome runners throughout the summer, supported by established venues, extensive visitor facilities and an increasingly international race experience.
Yet the real attraction lies beyond the numbers. It is found in the changing light over the mountain ridges, the long climbs through green landscapes and the shared energy of thousands of runners moving towards the same finish line.
In Chongli, the Olympic mountains do not rest when the snow disappears. They simply invite a different kind of adventure.

Wind turbines turn above open ridgelines. Grasslands stretch across the mountains, forests surround the trail, and sections of the wild Great Wall appear between distant peaks.
This is the landscape of Chongli 100.
Held around Thaiwoo Ski Resort, the 2026 race welcomed more than 3,500 professional athletes and outdoor enthusiasts. Four distances—100K, 50K, 30K and 10K—allowed experienced ultrarunners, first-time trail participants and families to explore the mountains at their own pace.
The 100K course crosses alpine meadows, mountain forests, rural roads and constantly changing terrain. It demands endurance and concentration, but it also rewards runners with an immersive journey through one of northern China’s most distinctive mountain environments.
Shorter routes make the same outdoor experience accessible to a wider community, proving that trail running is not only about extreme distance or competition. It can also be a reason to enter the mountains, move together and reconnect with nature.
When winter ends, Chongli’s Olympic mountains become a new kind of arena.

At first glance, it looks like paper. Look closer, and you'll notice something unexpected: it wasn't cut with scissors.

For centuries, artisans in Yuxian County have carved intricate designs with handmade knives, then brought them to life through vivid hand colouring: a process locals describe as "three parts carving, seven parts colouring."

What makes a trail unforgettable—the challenge beneath your feet, the landscape ahead, or the stories hidden along the way?
In Hebei, you can experience all three.
Follow rugged ridgelines beside centuries-old sections of the Great Wall. Run through the forests and alpine meadows of Chongli, where Olympic winter venues transform into a summer playground. Further east, mountain trails rise near the coast, bringing together ancient history, wild scenery and views towards the sea.
