Others tell stories.

Hacienda El Bosque is one of those places where every trail, every landscape, and every bird carries the story of the Central Andes.

One of the things we love most about traveling through Colombia is discovering the people behind each destination, those who have chosen conservation, hospitality, and a deep respect for nature.

For us, birds are much more than species.

They are the reason we meet extraordinary people and discover the authentic Colombia that few travelers get to experience.

This is why Hacienda El Bosque is proudly part of our Central Andes Route.

Because the best journeys are built through stories that stay with you long after the trip ends.

Y hay lugares donde las aves cuentan historias.

Hacienda El Bosque es uno de esos lugares donde cada sendero, cada paisaje y cada encuentro nos acerca a la esencia de los Andes Centrales.

Una de las cosas que más amamos de viajar alrededor de las aves es descubrir a las personas que están detrás de cada destino. Personas que han decidido conservar, recibir a los viajeros con el corazón y demostrar que el turismo puede convertirse en una herramienta para proteger la naturaleza.

Para nosotros, las aves son mucho más que una lista de especies.

Some journeys are remembered for the places you visit.

This one will be remembered for the person you become.

Over the past days, birds led us to extraordinary places, breathtaking landscapes, incredible wildlife, and meaningful encounters with local communities.

But the greatest discovery wasn’t found on a bird list.

It was discovering Colombia through its people, its culture, its traditions, and its extraordinary biodiversity.

That is the heart of the Summer BirdCamp

Helping children and young people experience the most authentic Colombia, where every bird becomes an invitation to explore, to learn, and to understand that conservation begins by truly knowing the places we love.

Because birds don’t just take us to new destinations.

They teach us how to see the world differently.

Hay viajes que se recuerdan por los lugares que visitamos.

Este lo recordaremos por la persona en la que nos ayudó a convertirnos.

Durante estos días, las aves nos llevaron a paisajes extraordinarios, encuentros con la fauna, comunidades llenas de sabiduría y momentos que permanecerán para siempre en nuestra memoria.

Pero el mayor aprendizaje no estuvo en la lista de especies.

Estuvo en descubrir la Colombia más auténtica a través de su gente, su cultura, sus tradiciones y su extraordinaria biodiversidad.

Esa es la esencia del Summer BirdCamp.

Learning from the Tikuna community reminded us that the Amazon is more than a rainforest it’s a living culture.

For generations, the blowgun and the bow were part of everyday life, reflecting a deep understanding of nature and respect for its balance.

Travel becomes truly meaningful when we listen, learn, and honor the people who call these places home.
