For those of you who have fished with us, you have met our Costa Rican captain Romel. Romel has fished in Costa Rica for 29 years and is one of the most experienced fisherman in the area. Usually he sets the gear, grabs the rods and hands them off to watch our guests play the fish. Yesterday we convinced him to take a turn and he landed this beautiful sailfish. He always says after nearly 30 years of fishing, it’s not that exciting… I think his smile tells a different story.

Another beautiful day off shore of Playa Flamingo today. Our friend Yamy caught the first fish of her life and it just so happened to be this beautiful sailfish.
