Loved my brief stay at the Zurich airport! Capsule hotel, (typically overpriced) restaurants and huge grocery at the Circle, and finally some rosti (and maybe a little Bailey's in my coffee) at the airport lounge before my flight in the morning. ☕ ✈️

Up at 3am, bundled up in my comforter on the balcony. Hands freezing but so stoked I realized my night shot can capture the stars! Watching multiple satellites go by and the Milky Way. My wine sure has a good chill on it! 😆🍷 🥶
Also surprised the church bells go off every half hour. ⛪

You can walk and/or take the bus from Lauterbrunnen to Trummelbach Falls. It's something different to do. The price has gone up to 18 francs ($23 US) and it only took about 45 minutes to see all 10 of the falls. Honestly the walk to get there was the best part! :)

Loving the sound of the bells that the cows wear here. It's like an Alpine chime.
This town of Wengen is beautiful, quiet (other than the birds chirping, the cow bells, and the occasional church bell), and clean. This is living. 💕🐄 🔔

OMG I've seen photos of this town for so many years and now I'm here! Taking the train from Lauderbruenen to Wengen and it's really just unbelievable.
The rock wall cliffs, snowy mountain tops that disappear into the clouds, green green everything!

The first day in Switzerland did not disappoint! Managed to get on the train at the Zurich airport heading toward Luzern (Lucerne).
A short wait at the train station there while we got our first glimpse of snowy mountains. Then boarded the (crowded) train to Interlaken. The scenery the entire way was just jaw-dropping! giant waterfalls, shear cliff mountains, green villages with old buildings. It all looks so Swiss! 🇨🇭🏔️ Just what you would expect it to be but still almost in disbelief because it's like a fairy tale. 😍

We used the app for our train fare using EasyRide that tracks you via GPS and figures out the best fare for you, so that was pretty easy.
Took a bus the last 12 km to the hotel. Looked at taking a taxi or Uber but it was like $50 to $75!
The entire ride from Zurich airport to Interlaken cost approximately $68 US.

This beach never disappoints! I prefer to stay in West End and take a water taxi over here to West Bay to go snorkeling. It's a beautiful walk up the almost perfect beach to the rocks at the end. Pop in the water and immediately see fish swimming around your feet!
But of course the water is so clear and perfect I can never make the walk without jumping in the water along the way.

It can get a little crowded when there are a lot of cruise ships in town. Try to go on a day with few to no cruseros in town. ;)

Stop at Bananarama for reasonably priced food and drinks.

You know I'm really more into the authentic non-tourist hype kind of things, but why not, this is definitely uniquely Bangkok! Approximately $30 for the entry membership.

As of Saturday, May 2, 2026, Spirit Airlines has ceased all operations immediately and canceled all remaining scheduled flights. The airline began an orderly wind-down early Saturday morning after failing to secure a $500 million federal bailout from the Trump administration.Immediate

Action for Travelers: Do not go to the airport: Spirit has canceled its entire schedule, and customer service counters are closed.
Automatic Refunds: The airline stated it will automatically process refunds for flights purchased directly with credit or debit cards.
Travel Agent Bookings: Passengers who booked through a third-party travel agent must contact them directly for refund assistance.
Customer Support: Direct customer service is no longer available online or by phone.

Major airlines are offering lowered fares to help affected passengers.
