** Our Newest Review on our ADR Adventure Park tour! **

This is an excursion you should not miss in Manuel Antonio. We come to the M.A. area every summer with our kids and have done just about every tour you can. We did this tour for the first time this month. It was spectacular. ADR has excursions down to an art (I recommend them for whitewater rafting also). We had a group of 19 (8 adults, 11 kids ages 7-11) and had an absolute blast. They fed us breakfast, which was a perk we have never had and really helpful when setting out early for a long day. Everyone was comfortable and all ages participated equally in the adventure. The guides are outstanding (Carlos is confident and knowledgable and made me feel like I was in great hands. Britchel and Danny were kind and fun. My 8 year old had some jitters about the waterfall swim and Britchel spoke to him and in less than 2 minutes had him 100% on board. I really appreciated his attention.) I highly recommend this excursion and this company.

Amazing eyelash pit viper found at our Adr Adventure Park.
The eyelash viper is a relatively small species of pitviper, with adults ranging from 55–82 cm (22–32 in) long, and females being longer and more variable in size than males, which can grow to 69 cm (27 in) long. They have a wide, triangular-shaped head, and eyeswith vertical pupils. Like all pit vipers, they aresolenoglyphous, having large, hypodermic needle-like fangs in the upper jaw that fold back when not in use, and have heat sensitive organs, or pits, located on either side of the head between the eye and nostril.

Its most distinguishing feature, and origin of its common name, is the set of modified scales over the eyes that look much likeeyelashes. The eyelashes are thought to aid incamouflage, breaking up the snake's outline among the foliage where it hides. B. schlegeliioccurs in a wide range of colors, including red, yellow, brown, green, even pink, as well as various combinations thereof. They often have black or brown speckling on the base color. No external features distinguish the two sexes.
