If someone told you to avoid Costa Rica during the 'Rainy Season' - don't listen!!

The rainy season is also known as The Green Season and for great reason -- Yes sure, there are parts of the country that experience periods of more intense rains between the months of June - November... but there are other parts of the country that do not!

The temperatures can be slightly lower.
The plants, animals, jungle... come ALIVE!
The waves can be bigger.
There are less tourists... and it's also Turtle laying season!

Imagine this... 🌴

Landing in Costa Rica as a family, welcomed by your guide and a few other families (from different parts of the world) who are equally as excited to experience Costa Rica as you are - together.

Imagine arriving at your accommodation that has everything you need to feel comfortable (including privacy) then heading out to the pool to connect, chill & enjoy watching the kids making new friends.

How nice would it be to wake up to the sound of tropical birds & howler monkeys, attend an (optional) yoga class & be served a traditional breakfast -- all at your accommodation with your new friends?!

Wouldn't it be great if all of you went out exploring, watching dolphins, snorkeling, trying surfing, chilling on the beach, trying new food, drinking coconuts (or cocktails), watching the sunsets... TOGETHER?!

Now what if a few days later, all of you got into a big van and went on a little roadtrip inland a few hours to a volcano and hot springs and spent the next few days exploring, spotting sloths, soaking in the hot springs, learning about morpho butterflies & making chocolate from raw cacao TOGETHER?!

But that's not even all of it...

What if then after a few days of wearing shoes & pants at night near the volcano, you all headed back to a NEW beach town, you arrive in your sweet comfortable accommodation and instead of *just* heading back to the beach chill, you have the opportunity to integrate into the community with a fun & educational volunteer project?!

Then finally, after 2-weeks in paradise, heading back to the airport with family memories that will last a lifetime.

We just spent the last 2 weeks visiting new places around Costa Rica so we can recommend them to YOU!

We know what it’s like to be a tourist — and although many people are OK with following the usual tourist trail (nothing wrong with being a tourist!), when we travel, we love to experience the roots of the country, learn about the culture and visit the villages that most tourists never get to.
.. and I know some of you do too!

How cool are these bush sculptures that we visited in a gorgeous mountain village called Zarcero that is actually super famous for their stringy CHEESE -- Queso Palmito! 😋

We stopped at their local 'Feria' and grabbed some traditional food: Casado, Tortilla con queso, tamales and a seriously delicious chorreada (fresh corn pancake)!

All 5 of us ate VERY well for less than $30usd!
.. bet ya didn't know Costa Rica can look like this and be COLD at night?! (we nearly froze, the hot tub didn't warm up until the morning 😂)

About Us! 👋

Since we are the NEW kids on the block — let us introduce ourselves and give you the BTS of Your Costa Rica Connection! 😍

We are a Canadian/Costa Rican family with a passion for sharing the insider’s perspective of our little slice of paradise.

Andy was born near to San José (the capital city of CR) and moved to the beach to fulfil his entrepreneurial dreams back in 2017.

Andy is your guy when it comes to anything and everything CARS. His company Get Some Wheels CR is his main passion driven gig where he helps tourists, expats & even locals buy vehicles.

Jocelyn (it’s meee 👋) is originally from Canada — she accidentally moved to Costa Rica back in 2019 right before the pandemic.

Not long after that, their family grew by one more amidst them living in the jungle & exploring other parts of Costa Rica!
